I like how open minded you guys are by trying foods and experiencing the cultures. That’s what makes this worthwhile. Sailing Zaharia is a waste. They are sailing around the world looking for American food and only diving. It’s like what is the point of traveling the world if you aren’t going to experience the countries and become enriched. I’m so proud of you guys.

Awesome. Love you guys. Been following your channel for a year now, but this is my first comment - well since you are in our country. I've been to Penang a few time. Laksa is often the must-try kind of food, anywhere in Malaysia. Each region has it own unique taste. Thank for visiting Malaysia. Hope you have a lot of fun in Penang. Yeah beer is expensive in Penang - go to Langkawi an island to the north - there it cost you less than one Canadian dollar.

I lived in Penang for 7 yrs leaving in mid 1963 as a 10 yr old. My Dad was in shipping. Did his Masters Certificate. Capt. J W Cook 😁. Seriously. John known as Ian which is Gaelic for John. He wrote a book about his working life based out of Singapore and Penang. “Those in Peril”. I went back in 2005, then 2007 and 2013 with my husband. Amazing to see the memories of my childhood come alive again. The smell of “stewing” flowers and vegetation as we disembarked the plane. Your video was a lovely reminder. Thank you.

Penang is the island I grew up on. 🙂❤ I am Malaysian, my great grandfather is British and sailed to Malaysia in the 1800s, married a Russian lady and had a bunch of kids which one of them was my grandma.. My grandma married a Chinese and had my mom. 🙂 My Dad is Japanese Chinese. Melting pot!

Welcome guys to my homeland....i was born there in July 1967.....the name of this island is Pulau Pinang (pulau means island, Pinang is a fruit chew by people you guys saw in papua - the red color, i think it's call bettlejuice).....in 1946 to 1957 the British occupied our homeland, they called it "Penang".....welcome to malaysia 😍👍

This is why I'm loving your channel even more, you go and mingle in the diverse cultures where ever you are, and give a true account of it surroundings, other channels I've unsubscribed due to there lack of content of culture experiences or they repeat the I've got it better than you attitude ...and wouldn't dare set foot on some of the places you've gone , or it's not good enough for them to video or visit ...Thank you for all that you do in bringing us videos from your journeys/travels...may your needs be met when needed, and lend a hand to those in need when you can, take care be safe and can't wait until the next video...

What separates Nahoa from SLV & Zatara is Ben & Ash submerge themselves into the culture of where they've sailed to. They document these people amongst their own culture that doesn't just teach us about them(the natives), Ben and Ash, but also upon reflection; ourselves. Thank you guys sincerely. It's also done with an unbiased perspective...w/o promotion of their own agenda. I'm a Christian and love the Lord but I also love people. (As the Lord did/does) The lives and events they capture and the ways in which they do so, we DO NOT get from any other sailing channel. There is no reason these two shouldn't have as many followers, if not more as SLV/Zatara. (Of which I am 100% supportive of) This video blessed me; thank you Ben & Ash. Please keep up the stupendous job of your documentary that you call your life. I live near the U.P. & I feel a connection w you guys & our "native" cultures. Continue to be genuine and we look forward to your sailing adventures on the 22 footer😁🤟

I love Penang, probably the most fun stop sailing from S'pore up to Phuket back in the 80'S, would anchore off George town, right in front of the town clock, great street food for sure, feel very lucky to have experienced that part of the world, before it got discovered, over a period of 20 year's, i sailed both coast's from Singapore to Thailand, plus Indonesia, good times for sure, i worked as a Oilfield Diver, out of S'pore, and in between job's, i would sail all over the place, i would leave my boat anchored some place, and go out on a job, return 2 week's later, and no body touched the boat, that was in S'pore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia.

Oh you guys missed malacca city next to strait of malacca! famous for its unique history and is one of the major tourist destinations in malaysia. highly strategic state position for international trade routes was once a well-known international trade center in the East. traders anchored in malacca, especially traders from arabia, china and india, traded at the port and from there were born many of the descendants and tribes that exist in Malacca to this day.

One thing you failed to mention in the video is that Georgetown, the capital city of Penang is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Also, Malaysian isn't a race, it's a nationality. Just like Canadian isn't a race, it's a nationality. Malaysia is made up of three major races - Malays, Chinese and Indians. A correction on the thumbnail for your video - it should be, from left to right: Indian (you've got this right), Malay and Chinese. Glad that both of you got to experience the melting pot culture (and food) of Malaysia as it is truly unique. Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!
