I bought the same one as you here in England 🏴.... got 600 miles on it so far... its a outstanding motorcycle, absolutely chuffed to bits with the SG 2024...

I picked up the 2024 Road Glide myself. Fantastic motorcycle. Stay safe 🙏

I picked the Street Glide because a) I loved the look of the new 2024 SG fairing most, and b) i was sitting closer into the bike, which just felt more comfortable. I had been told the Road Glide was easier to handle because the fairing was less heavy so that made me hesitate for weeks before deciding. But sitting on them, i felt that the RG was much to big and intimidating, and the fairing felt to far for me (I'm a short women). But i can't speak to the handleing as i had never actually tested either one before buying my SG. It was a big gamble, and i love it!

You make excellent points, I believe I would probably like the Street Glide also because of the same reasons you have mentioned. 😎

Nice video. I love my 21 SG special. If I do upgrade it will be the new CVOST 🔥

I recently demo rode a 2024 Street Glide and it did seem lighter than the 2014 HD Electra Glide Ultra Classic, l once owned. I wish HD would offer the consumer a frame mounted Batwing fairing on the Street Glide. Safe Travels.

Did the exact same thing back to back SG and RG ended up on a SG st and love it. Fir the road glide fir me, it didn't feel like the faring was part of the bike, sounds silly I know but the Guage cluster, radio, whole dash experience being farther away and static in a turn just felt weird. Took street glide out and my immediate thought was... oh okay this feels like a bike. That was it. I had never been on a touring bike, had many flavors of cruisers before so it was a true first impression situation.

Went from a 2015 StreetGlide Special to the 2024 SG , much nicer ride …. All around , installed 10 inch KST Custom handle bars and my hands still remain behind the fairing . Bike is a lot more nimble. I purchased the SG for basically all the same reasons.

Well this should be interesting, since I believe you are someone who will be honest about the new bike evaluation and comparison. As a lifelong Harley rider (50 years) who recently traded a 2008 SG for a new 2023 Indian Chieftain, I love the Chieftain and have zero buyer's or seller's remorse. Yes, I know, Harley has made improvements over the years and it's not fair to compare a 2008 to 2023, but I'm really impressed with the Indian.

The only HD touring bike I have not owned is the Bat Wing. If I could only have one it would be the Shark, I’d like to maybe add a batwing in the future.

Hi. good review. thank you for this. I have a question. Which size screen did you mount on the motorcycle? is it the 8 inch or 10 inch windshield? and how big is the difference with the standard windshield in terms of wind absorption?
@martyboddie99532 ай бұрын
Way to much wind with the stock windshield. I am 6ft 1in tall so I went with the 10in windshield. Tremendous difference with wind protection. I can now hear the radio at highway speed.

I admire the Road Glide and see its purpose as a great touring machine. The question, however, is why do ALL sport bikes have low handlebars.? Answer, it puts the rider in the best position to easily maneuver the bike. in fast corners. The body position is thus slightly forward hence leaning again :sporty, allowing for best weight distribution and positioning for weight transfer to assist cornering. The mirrors are in the usual sport position where easy review is enabled. Sitting upright is not the sport position. In fact with extended height bars the rider is sitting upright to slightly back comfortable for long distance highway use but not for faster maneuvering. Negotiating fast twisties is a challenge due to the weight distribution and hand position. Higher mirrors also prove difficult to use on the sport position.. Love the Road Glide for all its uses but for me HD made a great SPORT TOURING...................The Street Glide meets all the criteria.
@martyboddie995317 күн бұрын
I agree, especially about the handlebars. I like to lean forward on twisty roads.

I have a streetglide 2023 cvo. This is my third one. I just don't like the looks of the road glides and I have rd a couple and found to much wind coming at u. I just think the streetglide looks more sporty. Just my opinion, of course. Terry

I've never ridden either, but I've sat on both at the dealer and the RG just feels like a bigger bike than the SG for some reason.

The way I’ve always looked at and I know the 24 are different but the RK is the RG and EG is the SG only difference is cosmetics on any but all in all they are the same bikes just different fairings and I like em all but I prefer the SG but I don’t like the 24’s don’t like the lights in the fairings I do like the fairing but not the lights and really don’t like the gauges because if u have 1 problem you got a 100 with all digital they are making them more and more the less the customers can change and can control I went and looked at them in March and ended up just getting a 23 SG
@martyboddie99532 ай бұрын
I started to buy a 23 for the reasons you just mentioned. But I did want the 117 motor and new styling.

The more pressing question (to me) is why Harley street glide over Indian Challenger?
@martyboddie99532 ай бұрын
I have loved HD from childhood. I love the iconic look of the HD Street Glide. I prefer a fork mounted fairing over frame mounted. The fork mounted fairing is closer to me and provides better wind and weather protection. The Street Glide has more torque, but less horsepower than the challenger. The HD rubber mounted motor is smoother under hard acceleration. The Street Glide is lighter. The Street Glide has a shorter wheelbase and is easier to maneuver in a parking lot. HD has a better dealer network, more techs, and more aftermarket parts. The Street Glide is a little less expensive. I did consider the Indian Challenger. The challenger is a great bike, I was just ready to go back to HD. But I do love both brands and I will miss my Indian.
@martyboddie99532 ай бұрын
I forgot to mention, Indian has a much better suspension and HD does a better job with heat management.
@user-pw7tb2qy8b2 ай бұрын
@@martyboddie9953 I haven't felt the heat management you mention...and I am riding a Pursuit which is entirely different from the Roadmaster/Chieftan. I have ridden both HD & Indian bikes at Daytona Bike Week but it wasn't particularly hot in March. I can say, compared to the Kawasaki I just let go, heat management is a whole different universe. I nicknamed my Voyager the "Baby Dragon" because it belched so much heat onto the rider (mostly at the upper right leg/thigh). HD & Indian both are a huge win compared to my 2013 Kawi .
@martyboddie99532 ай бұрын
@@user-pw7tb2qy8b With your bike being fully liquid cooled the heat may not be an issue at all. That was my only real complaint about my Indian Roadmaster.
@user-pw7tb2qy8b2 ай бұрын
@@martyboddie9953 My Voyager was fully liquid cooled but the architecture trapped heat. The Pursuit is worlds better. I barely feel any heat and what I do is near my feet. I think the Pursuit has much better venting...

Street glide all the way trading in a older RK for a 2017 Street Glide here in a few days have always liked the Street Glide and have rode the Road Glide didn’t like the fairing not turning I don’t think there is that much difference in the wind buffering to me ride safe
