I feel somewhat righteous in that most of my blog post was reflective of this small sample size. But to be fair a more accurate thing to have written would be “It depends - everyone’s different! The end.”
While my social group agreed that we don’t eat fish and chips or afternoon tea very often, some people I interviewed said they do, so there you go!
What we can see is that not all British people like eating British food, but some eat it all the time!
I imagine it also depends on region and age, but we need to do a much more thorough study to understand the stats more accurately
I was really interested to learn how varied our population’s eating habits are! Thanks everyone for your engagement and questions!

When I was in boarding, the Friday fish and chips is always the best meal of the week, if excluding the Asian food I had in my room🤣 I also love the chicken and mushroom pie, and English breakfast😻 I don’t really eat the rest mentioned coz they’re either too sweet or too salty for me. Scottish egg is so thick in real life!

I like having British cuisines, all-day breakfast would be one of the choices, besides pancakes and tea. Also, it is fine to have fish and chips or afternoon tea sometimes.

Likewise, we don't have braised pork rice, beef noodles, boba tea frequently . I think many Taiwanese people eat these local dishes once a month, maybe once a year.

The company canteen and the college canteen I went to always have fish & chips on the menu on Fridays 😊

Thank you Susie. How about sandwiches? In fact I have the impression that Brits don’t care much about eating but care more about drinking like during Happy Fridays everyone’s got to gather at the pubs. In comparison to my Chinese cultural background, gatherings usually involve having a meal together more than having a drink together. As the Chinese saying mentions, 民以食為天, which emphasis a lot on the importance of eating culturally.

您的預計上的"often"-建議改為"至少一個月一次"，比"超過一個月一次"來得精準，超過一個月一次在字眼上看來，有可能是二個月一次或三個月一次或更多---的意思。

Do B&B or hotels in general still serve the fry up as default breakfast?

I visited Avon Hotel in London Paddington and they offered it there. (That's so far my only time visiting a traditional hotel) And it's pretty much the default breakfast in all Premier Inns (But not Hub by Premier Inn) For Travelodge, it depends on whether the hotel has a cafe inside. If not (say, the one in Bath City Centre), then you can get pickup breakfast only and no hot food. Otherwise, yes. I stayed in a few hotel with JD Wetherspoon as well, and obviously you can order fry up there. For BnBs, I think cereals is more common because it's easier to prepare, but I visited one that offers different choice for breakfast because the host is retired chef, and she did offer fry up on the menu.

Honestly, if you dont like fish and chips or fry up, the best food you can have are all from other countries 😂 Btw, because you have mentioned it, i have to say, 99% of so call "Japanese food" in UK are really Sxxt 😂 i dont really categorized them as Japanese cuisine, but they are just some horrible stuff strictly following the cooking tradition in UK. But please dont get me wrong, and have the feelings that i hate UK food. I am a huge fans of Fish and chips, and i do enjoy having fryup oftenly and also the cream tea😎

在英國很常見的卦包（bao)是許多英國人對台灣/亞洲菜的印象，然而在亞洲，卦包並不是我們很常吃的食物，除非購買方便或個人偏好。我想這跟炸魚薯條一樣，只是炸魚薯條至今在life in the UK入籍考試中，依然標明是英國的傳統食物（考古題常考！）官方都這麼說我們這些外國人難免會有刻板印象了😂 *但我覺得在英國吃炸魚薯條的人還是比在台灣吃卦包的人多，附近的店每週五「fishy Friday」都會排隊，倫敦有的公司週五中午也會一起訂炸魚薯條

其實臺灣或世界其它國家都一樣的道理。每天早上都有三明治、漢堡、奶茶、咖啡這些英美人士的食物，等著上班上課的人購買。即使不是天天端午節，天天吃肉粽是不奇怪的事（台南還有一種菜粽，什麼都沒包，頂多沾醬，菜該不會是那個粽葉吧？我的天）。

影片中講的傳統食物，我自己大概只有breakfast tea幾乎每週喝一次，炸魚薯條我在英國一年多內只吃過3次（實在油炸過度了不敢多吃），fry-up半年會想吃一次（超高蛋白早餐）。我很訝異沒有焗豆跟pastry，這兩樣不是英國傳統食物嗎？

Your Chinese subtitle did not translate fry-up correctly. It means Full English Breakfast, Not 油煎菜. There is no such thing called 油煎菜 in England.

I never heard of the term "fry-up". But it is the full English breakfast that was the default offering at all the B&B I stayed during my years in UK.
