I built the standard version of the AMT Mustang II back in the 80’s. I don’t remember any big problems building it, but the chassis has very little detail and the engine compartment is not correct. But it built up to a nice looking car. I still have the V6 engine and the tires, but nothing else remains.

Ricardo Montalban was the corinthian leather promoter for Chrysler, and lead actor on Fantasy Island. You may have been thinking of Vincent Price, the theater and movie actor often known for horror movie roles, but I remember him for reciting some scary lines on the song "The Black Widow" by Alice Cooper and on "Thriller" by Michael Jackson, both of which still get plenty of radio air time.

Cool entry for the group build. I actually like the Mustang 2. My dad had a 77 Mustang 2 as his first car. It had the V6 and a 4 speed manual transmission. I would like to find one of these kits and replicate his first car. My aunt has a Mach 1 Mustang 2 with the 302 👍😎

i have the mustang II I built as a kid in the 70's. It had the side fender flares (widebody i guess) and "turbine" style wheels. I want to say it was the king cobra kit but all the pictures i see of it online don't have those wheels. I think it was mpc. now I wonder which kit it was. anyhow looking forward to see yours completed.

I have never seen that kit before. You definitely have some work to do. It has to be one of the worst body styles ever and a horrible design for a Mustang. I'm sure you will make it awesome though. Can't wait to see the finished build!
