Rs.40 for a cup of fresh juice is cheap, at the fruit juice stall at Caudan it is Rs.250 a cup!

Absolutely....and in a bar you'll pay Rs150 onwards for a fruit juice.

There should be lots of places to stay in Port Louis. Try looking at the website: l'express.mu for property ideas. Let's hope this pandemic is over soon. Stay safe.

Just subscribed, loving your videos Lucy. Some great museums in Port Louis - the Blue Penny at Caudan is a great place to start. Also the Natural History Institute near Company Gardens and a brilliant little photograpic museum just opposite the Cathedral with some very rare items. Have you been to race day at Champs des Mars yet?

There is so much to see around Port Louis. I haven’t even scratched the surface yet! I have this idea to rent a moped and explore it that way. I reckon it’d be easier to lug camera gear around and I’d be able to see things that I otherwise would have missed.

@@LucyLeheilleix I wouldn't recommend going around Port Louis by moped! The traffic can be very dangerous if you don't know exactly where you're going. Why not hire a taxi for the day? A handy phrase: "Mo pas touriste, mo Mauricienne." :) Am on a bingefest of your videos, having just found the channel!

Lucy, can you tell me more about the gay community or attitudes towards gay people in Mauritius. I know its Africa so I dont expect it too be too pen but it is Hindu, so they are known to be more accepting. Could a closeted gay man fit in there? Thanks for any info.

Hmmmm, a good question. It’s definitely not as open here as say Cape Town, San Francisco or Nice. I haven’t seen any gay bars, but I live in the west, and most nightclubs are up North. That said, people seem to peacefully get along. I don’t see why you’d have a problem.

Many, many different races and cultures here. A melting pot as they say. That's what makes it so diverse.
