Her hands move beautifully. The song is lively and lovely. It's great that she is getting so much attention for her work and for her years of effort and practice. The song entices me. I hope we all can grow old and utilize our talents....and retain our health and lives. I wish that we did not need to worry about the future of our lives.

IKR and even more impressive for me, is the fact that there’s an incredible understanding of resolution and pure beauty. She’s not doing random improvisation. She’s looking for aesthetics, she’s shaping emotion into melody. She’s really, seriously talented.

Thank you Matthew for posting all these videos of your mother, I pray to God that somebody has written down this music, I know these are all self composed pieces, and they are so beautiful, we can’t allow them to pass into oblivion, I know she doesn’t like recording studios, but I’m hoping a musician out there somewhere is writing all this down, she is a modern Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven, nobody could ever play as beautifully as she can. Thanks again my friend, thanks to both of you for making such a difference in my life. Every time you play, Natalie, You always leave a tear in my eye, a lump in my throat and warmth in my heart, especially on those days when life is too hard, and I just don’t want to keep going anymore…. I literally go from being suicidal to listening to your music, and finding the wheel to live after hearing such beauty, because it reminds me of how much beauty there is out there in this world, call beauty that we seldom get to see or hear, but thanks to you, we do. You have no idea what you do for people, but I want to say it anyways, you touch us in more ways than you could possibly imagine, and I’m eternally grateful. Sending you much love from Toronto, TJ.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@angelagabrielle9694 you are too kind, and thank you so much for caring. I am so deeply sorry about your son, I can’t even begin to imagine the pain, I offered you my deepest condolences, and not to worry, I’m still here. Unfortunately, my problems are many, and are not easily solved, but I do have a wonderful therapist, and I take many medication’s. I still struggle, but I am surrounded by people all the time now, my spouse and my family will not let me be alone, because I told them to do that. I would never ever take my life with anyone around, so just to be safe, I make sure that I am always with at least one person if not more. It’s only when I spend a lot of time by myself, that those impulses return, because when you have all the Time in the world to think about everything that’s wrong, you can’t see clearly. I’m so guilty of that. From the age of 20 until now (I’m 54) I have undergone 37 gastrointestinal Surgeries, removing 95% of my entire G.I. tract. When I was 21, my large intestine ruptured while I was in the hospital, I died for three minutes, that was the beginning of my surgical journey. When they opened me up after they got my heart beating again, they found the cancer, malignant, intestinal cancer. It came back a total of four times, each time I had a 5% chance, each time I survived somehow. I was forced to go on permanent, long-term disability at the age of 46, left isolated alone at home, away from the world, and all of my friends and coworkers, who still have to be at work every day, while I sit at home alone because I’m too sick. In total, I’ve developed 15 chronic illnesses, most of which are side effects from all the surgery, the Crohn’s disease, the intestinal cancer, the chemotherapy, radiation, the medication, and all the therapy I had to go through. It’s just too much to type out, suffice it to say I’ve been through hell and back turning my life upside down and backwards. I’m just a former shell of who, and what I used to be as a young man, and there are days I wished to God that I didn’t survive, because it’s hard living with 15 chronic diseases. I take more medication than my elderly parents combined. I can barely eat anything, I can’t drink alcohol, basically I’m kept alive via IV, nutrition, and hydration. I have good days, and really bad days. What stands out the most is the months on end I’d spend in the hospital, literally crying myself to sleep every single night because I couldn’t stand the pain, depression, and hopelessness anymore, and the fact that I would never have a normal life ever again. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to dump this all on you, I just wanted you to understand why I said what I said. It is so hard, living like this. Never knowing what’s going to happen from one day to the next, I try so hard to remain positive, that’s why I have to have people around me all the time, because if I’m left alone, for too long, I have the ability to end my life very quickly and painlessly, via all the medical devices I rely on to survive, I simply flip a switch, and I’m done. But there’s another part of me that is mad as hell, and stubborn, refusing to give in to what’s been done to me. That’s the voice I listen to. Everyone’s story is a little different, but we all share one thing in common, hopelessness, a feeling, that nothing will ever make things any better, and that life is only going to get worse, I’m afraid that’s probably how your son felt, because I know a lot of friends that took their lives as well, including my best friend ever since we were children. I’m certain your son is still with you, and if you listen closely, I’ll bet you anything he’s leaving behind clues to let you know he’s still with you. When I died for those three minutes, I got to see the other side, it’s a long story, but if it helps, it’s a very beautiful place, something no words could ever describe, it’s called heaven for a reason, all the pain, all that hurts, everything that drove us over the line, is suddenly replaced by the most incredible feelings of love and joy and peace you could possibly imagine, permeating every single part of you. I have never ever felt that wonderful in my life. I saw my grandfather, who died when I was only eight, I loved him so much, and I never had the chance to say goodbye, because he died of a stroke, and my parents thought they were protecting me by not letting me see him, but the opposite was true. We ran to each other, hugging for what felt like hours. Time works differently on the other side, because I would’ve sworn I was there for at least an hour or two, in reality I was only dead for three minutes. I’ll never forget when my grandfather took a step back, look me in the eyes, and told me it was not yet my time, that I had a lot more work to do, I had a lot of people to help. I didn’t want to go back, I was only 21, but I was in so much agony for so long, I dreaded going back. He didn’t want me to go either, but he said the choice is not he has to make. After that all, I remember, is falling backwards for what felt like an eternity, until I woke up in my body in the ICU after a 10 hour operation to save my life, trying to figure out why someone stuck a balloon to my side, not realizing it was an ileostomy bag, the first of eight different ones I’ve had so far. There is a place on the other side, and it is beautiful. I hesitate telling the story, but given what you’ve been through, I was hoping it might help you feel a little better, knowing that your son, your precious boy, is truly at peace and with his family. For some reason they named John or Johnny is coming through in my head, did you know anyone by that name? Ever since I came back from the other side I came back with some pretty unique abilities that nobody believes, but names just popped into my head when talking about things like this, he wants you to know that he’s a piece, and then very happy. He also asked me to mention something about the coin, I have no idea what that means though. No, I’m not crazy, in fact, I think you’re about the fourth or fifth person, but I’ve learned when I get these messages, I’m supposed to pass them on. Regardless, if I’m right or wrong, just know he’s happy and at peace. And don’t worry about me, I’m not afraid of dying, because I know what awaits, but I have no plans of going anywhere anytime soon, I am not letting these damn diseases get the better of me! Sending love and light, TJ❤️❤️❤️❤️

"Fifteen years ago, Natalie Trayling was homeless when she found a baby grand piano in a Melbourne department store. She asked the staff if she could play and she began to share her gifts for anyone walking by, playing Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms and her own compositions. Now 80 years old and suffering from painful arthritis in her hands, Natalie has found a calling playing the piano for people on the streets, in the emergency room, in hotels and department stores in Melbourne, Australia. Nuns taught Natalie to play piano when she attended Catholic primary school and, at age 12, she won a music scholarship to Santa Maria College. At age 15, she won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London because her parents couldn't pay non-tuition costs. After the tragic loss of her two daughters and other setbacks in her life, Natalie has found meaning sharing music with everyone, ''Children come up to me, people of all classes and all walks of life,'' she said. ''I just love being there and I feel that they should hear the music. The way I feel when I play and the way I feel when I'm among the people, it just feels really good. ''It's something I wouldn't get from a concert hall because only certain people go there. But this is for everyone.''"

Genius in my definition of the word is someone who creates something new and entirely their own and in her case it seems spontaneous and in the moment. @Val O'Brien are you sure you didn't play a brass instrument, because by the sounds of it, you love to tut your own horn. You missed my point, it wasn't about everything you've done thus far, it's whether or not you'll even have the strength and will at that age. You were commenting like a judge on a talent show. Its just a old lady playing on a street piano. Lighten up a little.
@derekvawdrey4554
@derekvawdrey4554 5 жыл бұрын
@Val O'Brien Sir, your perspective is very biased. You say that you were taught at an early age Alfred Cortot's interpretation of technique on a piano. However, many could say that Alfred Cortot's interpretation of technique is absolute rubbish because of the way they've been taught. Technique is subjective, and there is no such thing as "very poor" technique. Very much like how Lang Langs interpretation of certain Mozart pieces, which some say he made them too Chopin. However, others say that it was interpreted correctly The piano she is using is a Roland FP-4, a digital piano that while doesn't have strings, uses very complex and complicated algorithms to produce the same sound a grand-piano would have. As this isn't a grand piano it doesn't sound the same. However, it still has the same things: Hammer Action Pedal Action (Although, it is admittedly half-action) Touch responsiveness (Harder you press, more amplified sound/more reverb) When a key is pressed sound comes out of it. If you think about it, a String piano has a predetermined sound aswell, if you press Middle C, it produces a pitch equivalent to 261.626 Hz. A digitial piano produces the same effect. While reverb is different, both pianos have it. So, while it may not produce the exact same sound, they require almost the same amount of technique, finger-movement, and knowledge of music theory. And you got something wrong, I don't want to hear anyone play the piano. I want to hear the music that is produced by the piano. Player, Age, etc, doesn't matter. All that matters is what it produces. Essentially, the point I am making is that the entirety of your argument isn't based on her skills, it seems to be based upon your hatred for older people and quite possibly your inability to accept others skills as equal or fair. I do not doubt that you have amazing skill in the piano, but a fellow pianist who truly loves music should never attack someone for what they play, how they play it, and how they interpret it.

My grandmother was a pianist! In the end her hands and fingers were weathered and crooked. It could not keep her away from the talent God had given her! Thank you for the share. Brings back lovely and loving memories. 🌹

WOW she has severe arthritis and some Dupuytren's contracture ,Yet she play piano very well. I'm 65 and she inspired me to do something with my life and not just wait for the end. I'll stop complaining when my articulations hurts and keep on going.

I got two degrees and didn’t rely on music as my only source of income. I am now retired and play two single acts per week. I watch our culture talk while real music is before them. It used to bother me but know I play for me. I get paid and I get 10% of the audience fully in my world.

I had tears rolling down my face while staring and listening. It was otherworldly. Piano has always touched a deep place in my soul, but music like this, this was meant to be something incredible, beyond words. I am so thankful to have found this video.

Raynel Isaac haha good one! Wait... you’re serious? Poor thing, do you not know the truth about your Father? He loves you EVEN if you think He doesn’t exist. He gave you eternal life, instead of just this trying experience. All you have to do is accept it. Remember, gold is refined by fire. I’m praying for you, that you would develop a love for the truth. If you humbly seek truth, you will find it.
