I love when we have hard waste in Australia as you can find all sort of treasures on the side of the road. Today I drive around and find 2 driers and take them home to melt down . An awesome copper bar today as well as a great aluminum bar to add to the stack. Now sit back relax and check out the video. And if ya have some spare time maybe check out 1 or 2 of my other vids you may have missed along the way as I have over 365 videos now😁
Take care Be safe and have an awesome weekend.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

I just love finding scrap on the side of the road and that's exactly what I've got in this video. A bit of street scrapping today and two great bars for the stack. I thought I would shine and stamp up the copper to make it that little bit more special. So sit back check it out and have yourself an absolutely awesome weekend😆👋🏻

Bigstackd really helped me out when I just started melting metal, the reason I needed a forge is because I always had an insane amount of copper wire going to the trash from drier and range power cables since I work at an appliance store. He gave me lots of good tips and even a discount for a forge!

@15:00 no bandage on your thumb @15:07 bandage wrapped in tape Bigstackd: going above and beyond, even injuring himself, for our enjoyment. I always hate the weird stares I get when salvaging stuff from trash piles. I save a lot of money cutting the cords from appliances and other electronics like vacuum sweepers since I don't have to buy that wire for projects. Same with buckets.
@sand3882
@sand3882 Жыл бұрын
Since it isn't a real bandage, and since he only has it while working with the fine copper, I would guess it's for protection to keep the tiny bits out of his thumb. He isn't wearing it later.

Plot Twist: bigstackd specifically chose those dryers over any others cause he knew they had motors that were a certain configuration that demanded the use of a 10 mm. It was as if a gift from the heavens, the perfect opportunity to revive the legendary bit of the lost 10mm. The entire video, all 32 minuets and 59 seconds were all a cover up of said bit revival.

Doing opposite job. I recall how, as a kid, spent hours with 0.1 mm copper wire to carefully make the winding you are dismantling so quickly here. Sad to see how people throw away copper so carelessly. It can be melt again just as you do, but the wire can also be unwound and recovered to make new coils. The dielectric enamel on it is expensive, just as the process to apply it. Nice melt. Thank you...

Yay! Big breakdown day. I think you put the copper extraction from the motors after you had weighed the extracted copper. Oopsie. Good luck tracking down those 10mm sockets. I hope they don't breed (maybe make some 2-3-4mm babies)!

My usual Friday morning coffee and BigstackD. Love it. Been an extremely wet Summer in Florida. 2+ inches per day for most days out of the past 3-4 weeks.

Gotta put them 10mms on a leash or build a kennel for them. Can't turn your back on them. They're just as wild in the States.

I would love to moved there, just for the burgers. That's a really good looking burger.
