Scotty realises he forgot to read the instructions (again) and goes back into the Trolvo's transmission to rectify a problem. But is the problem unfixable?

10 second instructions is what it needs.. that would solve every performance part fitment. good on you for owning up to it and fixing it as usual. all part of project car process (except you have heaps(of projects), so must be dealing with some serious nightmares if you can sleep )

It's hilarious seeing such a brick of a car go so fast. A few years back I bought a second hand MV autos shift kit for my Soarer, and got the local mechanic to put it in. Guessing they'd already put the correct solenoids onto it.

Does the trans have line-out ports for testing band and servo pressures? If so, a quick hookup with a gauge will tell you what is going on with 2nd.

Surely there are plenty available to buy. I had a total of 13 of these sitting around my house at one point last year. Owed me $330 since a majority of them were given to me. Anyway good luck 11’s should be pretty easily doable. I managed to run an 11.9 with 370hp 2jz on the stock ecu in a 1500kg car. Even with a 1.8 60ft

That shifter is the reason I adapted a Lexus shifter to my car. Never worked properly

I'm not sure what type atf you are using but before you pull the whole thing apart try a type 4 atf if not running it already. It fixed my second gear issues though it was not as bad as yours. Keep up the awesome content.

What a ball ache, in and out with transmissions. Maybe the second gear servo piston is leaking a little too much.

Seems a little odd that the suppliers of valve body would fit solenoids if ya supposed to put the original ones on...

Yeah, we just assumed it was ready to go. But it seems the supplied solenoids are just placeholders, who know what condition they were in.

Hey Scotty, seen Adam LZ just got a Barra for his GT350 mustang that was partly destroyed in a fire, think it’d be mad if you could get into contact with him hopefully and help him and Alberto build their NA Barra to handle the 1200 they want to make

Someone elses half done projects are always a journey of discovery and thats half the fun I guess, I see you replaced the shifter with an inch pound torque wrench there Scotty.... Classy mate, stepping it up a notch eh. Problem is keyboard mechanics wont know what it is lol

@@STREETMACHINETV Yes, Yes they are. Good content though and this one's been fighting you HARD! Great sponsors help a ton but you still have to put in the hard yards, I nearly cried when the whole Yoplait, it's French for Blown head gasket ethanol/milkshake/turbo thing cropped up but the learning side is Yuge and I see why Barra the world is a thing re cost, reliability and simplicity. Love it AND Im buying SM Mag again after years away.

If you hold the dipstick upside down for long enough it'll reach the required level your looking for. LOL. By the way that hand pump for a 20L drum should be around 250ml capacity. Just check in an empty oil bottle 4 pumps should get you to the 1L mark.

Yeah, it's nowhere near that. I think it might be 100ml.

@@STREETMACHINETV ok. I got one that is about 250ml it looks about the same. My dad has an old alloy one that pumps both ways and if you lift the handle all the way up it squirts you in the leg out the breather hole.

why not check the 20lt container and put marks on it if it has a clear plastic window on it, or again read the instructions of the pump system, lol :)

Automatic gearbox in that car : 10% fun-factor all over. Manual gearbox in that car : full 100% fun-factor all over AND less problems.

Steadyfab nope in sweden we all drive with manual gearboxes if you wanna have some streetfun and trackdays. Using BMW zf is a very common swap and very cheap ❤️ Keep up the Good job guys!!

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM - what is a "...vale body..." as depicted in the instructions ( HA - that NOBODY ever reads until AFTER the event) - HA. And at circa 8:50 it does sound like a 'bag of bolts' when idling and you are checking the fluid level. HA - Have a nice day all - CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

if thats the same auto that's in a JZA80 Supra, then you're in for a whole lot of hurt and pain. I probably went through six of the A340E's in the 3 years of owning one. You can spend a whole lot of cash on these autos, but they are only as good as the weakest link. If your not burning out clutch packs, your snapping planetary gears or input shafts. Something ALWAYS breaks. Second Gear is the weakest link! MV Autos sell some half decent upgraded clutch packs (blues) that you can stuff more of into the A340E but i wouldn't put more than 250Kw's to the wheels. That's all these autos are good for.......running a decently sized Trans cooler with fan and fully synthetic oil will help a bit

I’ve been putting 620rwhp through a stock a340 with an mv shift kit and 3000rpm stall for the last 6months. Daily, race, drag it. Had 400rwhp previously for 2.5yrs prior which copped heaps of abuse. Let me guess the first one lasted longer than the others? You’re supposed to get your converter cut open and flushed out and also all your lines when it poops the bed.

its that old saying, always read every line till, it states you have just wasted 5 minutes of your own time, if you had not relised the first line said not to bother reading the rest of this document LMFAO ? Scotty mate put a dam T400 or even a t350 for god sake buddy, or even better get a second hand unit to suit it and re do the solenoids again new casket etc etc, better than rebuild a current gear or clutch system for it etc, also why not check the auto out, like you have 100's of contacts and they will do it for ya, just for mentioning the business and that they are still open during COVID 19 etc etc, ?
