Just two weeks ago Craig said Layton Williams was ‘one of the best dancers Strictly has ever seen’ - yet on Sunday night he found himself in the dance off with partner Nikita. So how are the pair feeling after a mixed reaction to their American Smooth? What will they be doing this week to be back on top form? The couple are joining us live in the studio to explain all, as well as exclusively revealing what they’ll be dancing to this week.

I'm glad they addressed the trolling he gets because it's horrible. And a lot of the criticism of his experience is never addressed at any of the straight dancers who also have training and experience.

@@rosepetal34 James Jordan did dancing on ice and won. Didn't see him moaning about being a professional dancer. NOOOOOO, he was very quiet on that point. He didn't have ice skating experience, like layton didn't have Latin or ballroom experience. Kettle and black Jordan 😮

@peterwilliamskelhorn6675 HI Peter I know it's completely different but it's still dancing. He has dance moves and can coordinate is body. I know he didn't have ice skating skills, but it's the thought that he slagged layton off for dance experience when he too had it on the ice. Can't have it both ways

@LanaDelReySupremacy I'm not "pressed," as you say, about a man being called Nikita, I'm British, I consider myself cultured, and the name Nikita is quite a common name for a man in Eastern Europe, namely Russia and Greece. Nikita Kuzmin is a great Pro. dancer, just like the rest of the strictly dancing cast. I think Nikita Kuzmin and Layton Williams have been amazing dancing together. Problems ??????

@@elaa6701the public will vote for Bobby as a complete non dancer or Ellie who are both down to earth young people over a Professional Dancer as that’s always been the way.

@@letitiakearney2423 This is a dance competition and the best dancer should win. They were all invited to compete and it turned out that Layton is the best dancer therefore he should win.

@@ShatteredMirror people always do this to women/flamboyant gay men, people don’t think they deserve to be sure of themselves and to be outspoken so always interpret their confidence as arrogance, it’s really frustrating to watch and just such a blatant display of misogyny and homophobia but unfortunately we’re all used to it by now. Like how a man’s charisma is a woman’s obnoxiousness, a man’s assertion is a woman’s bossiness etc etc

If we criticise your " American smooth dance " because it doesn't resemble an American smooth it's got nothing to do with you, your wardrobe or your lifestyle ... Once a peacock fans his feathers in your face , it's done .....we have seen your peacocking and now we want too see a recognisable ballroom or Latin dance ...

I think their Argentine Tango, Viennesse Waltz, Salsa, and Quickstep were very recognisable.

Layton does not choreograph the routines. If you didn't like the American Smooth why are you not mentioning the pro. You mention Layton's name alone. Some of criticism he gets is because of who he is. That's just too obvious to deny that. Also within reason he should continue to peacock if likes.

Thats not what they said, they specifically were talking about the constant homophobia he receives, and comments telling him to “dress as a man”, thats got nothing to do with criticising the dance.

Spot on, John. There may be elements in the choreography of the specific dance, but Layton makes little effort to capture the mood. It is all very loose. I get a strong impression it is Leyton who is calling all the shots every week, and it's Nikita who is often a little on the back foot in trying to keep up. After a week or two of revealing how capable he is, it would be nice to see dances that adhere more closely to the fundamentals. The fact that this rarely happens, gives me the impression Layton feels he can do what he wants and he's above it all. There is a whiff of arrogance to him, although in interviews he may appear modest.

Laytons a cheat he went to dance school, hes a profesional west end performer. he did Billy Elliot for gods sake. so stop lying, hes fully trained

As Shirley ballas herself said this week he is absolutely not the only one with dance experience or training left in this cast he’s just the one that gets picked on relentlessly while everyone ignores west end performer Nigel Harman and ballet trained Annabelle
