In this video I take a long awaited look at the Striker RK1 longbow. Im just so sorry its taken so long!
Ive been taking it easy while I recover form some surgery and on top of that my shoulder has been playing up lately. But it felt great being out in the wood filming again, so please enjoy!

I too found the RK1 to be hard to like at first but I put an 18 strand Grizzly Pro string and wool silencers on the bow and wow what a difference !!! I’m simply amazed at how quiet the bow is and that subtle vibration is gone too !! If you think a simple string change is insignificant think again !! Grizzly Strings are amazing !! Thanks Jim for your expertise and attention to detail!!

Hi Jim, no flack from me. I don’t care what it is made from, a trad bow is a trad bow. Good to see you again. Only gripe I have is I’ve spent months trying to tune my Hoyt buffalo, and I’ve come to hate it. Cost me $1100 Australian, not cheap. I’ve even bought a pair of Hoyt F4 carbon limbs. Still loud as ever , can’t find arrows that will bare shaft tune. Anyway love the striker. Love longbows also. See you again . Robert, from Australia.

I like the bow, but $1000 is a bit much for me. I am considering selling my high end bows and buying a single long bow at my age of 67. I enjoy 'instinct shooting the most. That 'sight on target, raise and shoot within 2 to 4 seconds' appeals to me the most. Not trophy winning stamp shooting, but at 20 yards I can fill a 16 ounce cola bottle with several holes out of six arrows, enough that I have to do fletching or arrow replacement. I like the long bow for its quietness but it is slowest. However, it is the flight of the arrow to target that I enjoy most. I have a PSE long bow which I enjoy now, but would like a breakdown bow.

Looks like a nice bow. I'm usually more one for horse bows as I'm shootig with a thumb ring however this one looks really nice. What I'm wondering is does it feel in the left hand just as good as in the right hand ? It's something I'm always searching for in a take down bow .

I know, but with those longbow limbs, and the aluminum (that's Al-you-minnium to you Jim) riser just makes it such an accurate little bow. Greg needs one in recurve, Stryker would do well to sponsor 3DArchery ( the wheels, how they do turn...). Did you see how Jim could fit three arrows in the same hole with that bow? He's going to kill it at ETAR (if he can shoot while laughing).
@dodo19923
@dodo19923 6 жыл бұрын
Hi dude, left handed guy here. Just wondering, my recurve i own at the minute, kg osprey is left handed shooting #50 at 28 inches. I'm really interested in a take down such as this, and am considering a right handed riser to shoot lefty. Do you think this would impact accuracy as such, my arrows are in a modded quiver on my lower back and pulled out from the side, so having a right handed riser means instead of going through the bow or over it to nock my arrow i could swing it onto the rest itself for speed shooting.

Definitely ugly but the geometry is Good it's got a nice D Flex riser I really like D Flex risers with recurve or longbow . I find aluminum risers are smoother and quieter than wood. I would like it better if it was ilf. Aluminum is less traditional but to me it seems more stable the density and weight seem to make them feel better and smoother, good limbs make a big difference to.
