Striving for Peace & Justice by Lauren Booth ICNA-CSJ Annual Banquet and Fundraiser
ICNA Council for Social Justice, a social justice advocacy organization is holding its Annual Banquet and Fundraiser on December 17, 2011. Well known British journalist, sister in-law of former British prime minister Tony Blair, and a revert Muslimah, Sr. Lauren Booth will be the key note speaker. Congressman Andre Carson also has been invited. Other Speakers include Imam Khalid Griggs, Chairman ICNA Council for Social Justice, Dr. Zahid Bukhari, national president of ICNA. New this year will be pre- event workshops on public advocacy and social justice. This event will be held in Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge, 1900 N Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, VA 22209. Parking is free. Baby sitting will be available. Tickets are $30 per person. Click here to buy tickets online.
This year on the day of ICNA Council for Social Justice Annual Banquet and Fundraiser, we will hold two Pre-Event Workshops on Public Advocacy and Social Justice. First workshop will be on "Advocacy vs Lobbying: New Trends adopted by Unions, Corporations and Foreign Entities" By Asim Ghafoor, Esq. a public affairs attorney. The second workshop will be on "American Muslims and the Struggle for Civil Rights: A Historical Perspective" By Salahuddeen Kareem. These workshops will start at 2:30 pm and end at 5:00 pm. It is also interesting to note that christians openly carry their bibles and invite anyone to study the bible with them no matter what. Unfortunately not so with muslims. Very seldom does one see them openly carry their Qurans even to their mosques on Friday prayers! Also, I have been constantly invited to read the Quran (Which I have done) but never been asked to join a home group to study the Quran.

My point is to show that such marriage occurred in Moses, Christ and modern times,it is not only Mohammad(pbuh) did it. Nowadays it is important that girls get an higher education due to the demand of the importance of having academic qualifications to get a job in our modern life style.

Correction: Actor Douglas Hutchinson age 51 married Alexis Stodden age 16 in year 2011. Prophet Mohammed widowed age over 50 married Aisha at age 14, consummated the marriage at age 19 during the year over 600 A.D. Jesus Mother, Mother Mary age 12 to 14 married Joseph age 90. Thus, we need to learn from here what is best in todays society, just like they know best what is for their society of the time. World is the manifestion of Divine Love and Mercy according to Quran.

Dear all if she is a moron then how come she is so patient and silent?? If she is on the wrong path why does she not reply to your wrong and weakly justified comments. She absorbed all the criticism with respect and forgiveness. Why do you hate her English? If a German or Japanese can’t speak English would you hate him?? Islam doesn’t teach anyone to encourage racism. If she is bad at English, you set a good example for her. You can politely teach her English. U.K and U.S are good examples of spreading knowledge and awareness. Let’s spread peace. Lacking in a language is not a sin. We all stay learners till the death. Let’s have a positive mind. We being Muslims believe in all Prophets like Jesus, David, Moses, etc. So now you can gauge the generosity and open mindedness of Muslims. I will suggest all of you to research on Islam. If one takes into account the total false claims that Islam makes against YESHUA, belittling him and scriptures and making him out to be a liar, and duping its followers, then no wonder there is all this animosity between Islam and christianity.

Wow. YET again you quote Matthew 27:46, 27:50, 16:39. All this to "prove" an Islamic point!!! This book that you refer to as THEIR BIBLE must be just, if not more important than the Quran itself!!! Without the Bible, the Quran is incomplete,. I certainly hope muslims revere the Bible as much as they do the Quran.!!!

Jesus said "an adulterous generation" but do you even have any idea what he was talking about? No, you don't have a clue. Where does it say Jesus was praying 3 times a day and bowing his head to the ground? Jesus said he is the Lord. We pray to God the Father in the name of the Son. A cross represents Christians. A moon and a star are above the mosque and represent Islam. You figure it out.
