Second alarm residential structure fire at 102 Turk House Lane in Cary, NC. Reported structure fire dispatched at 12:55pm, with Cary Engine 5 first arriving and initially not finding evidence of fire. Upon further investigation, smoke was found inside, and also began to show from the roof.
Engine 5 with fire attack gave the order to charge the line, and flames were then seen from the roof as they made their way in. They were able to knock down the fire quickly, but it remained active in the attic.
2nd alarm was transmitted for additional personnel at 1:15pm, arriving soon after with many other crews moving up for coverage.
After making access to the attic, the fire was finally fully knocked down, and with the help of vertical ventilation the smoke quickly dissipated. The fire was marked under control at 1:40pm and 2nd alarm crews began to start clearing the scene.
Homeowner was able to get out unharmed, however 1 firefighter was looked at and transported to the hospital by EMS likely due to heat related injury.
