I recommend adding 1/4 c of cornstarch to the AP flour to give it a silkier, finer texture like cake flour otherwise it’s not a cake, it’s more like a sweetbread, like a banana bread. Most busy moms would just buy a cheap yellow cake mix which already has the fine-grain cake flour in it.

Never heard of the dish since I'm not from the US but for 64c a piece, that's pretty damn good. A bang for your buck as people say. I have everything expect the cherries and pineapples. Looks easy enough to make.

I use crushed pineapple. And drizzle pineapple juice (sometimes mixed with pineapple rum) over the bottom before flipping it.. it's a Fantastic addition!

I go through a 16oz tub of sour cream every 1-2 weeks, Greek yogurt I have no use for. But you do you. Love your channel and how you explain very simply how to make great food.

My grandma used box yellow cake and didn't bother mixing the butter/ brown sugar glaze. Just dumped it right in the bottom of the pan. I guess that's more like Lazy Meals.

Just made this for myself for Mother's Day! It turned out amazing! I'm wondering if it would hurt the recipe if we cut back a little on the butter? Maybe only one stick of butter? It does make it taste super amazing though. Everything's better with butter! I like the suggestion with cornstarch too, maybe I'll try that next time.
