My grandma in Apache, Oklahoma always said to crack eggs on a flat surface because the shell stays more intact and you don't get the little bits of shell you get from cracking on an edge. Of course she also said if you do get some shell you can just keep that news to yourself! I sure do miss her!

Made me cry. 'Cause of sweet memories. First off, this looks like an ingenious recipe to me, Kent! Story: my wife was american. I'm german. (She once watched me makin' 3 bypass breakfast for myself. Murmuring: "the spice fairy is cooking, again.") If a soul lingers on, Gail and me will meet again far in outer space, where no satans or gods have a say. Where just love can prevail. Sit down together on a star and laugh about all those silly moments we where allowed to share. During these brief moments we where able to share with each other, living on the planet earth.

Wow! Never thought of this at all. I have oatmeal molasses bread I made up yesterday. I'm short on sausage though. The hogs are starting to look a little suspicious about now. I suppose I could chop up some ham and give it a touch of sage. It should work fine with enough cheese. Thank you as always.

My mom always called it "egg in a nest." This video caused warm wonderful feelings to flood back. When I started making egg in a nest for my family, I would add fried bologna or smoked breakfast ham and cheese, but it never occurred to me to use sausage. That will be the next breakfast I make!! mom used to make them, side slices of bacon or ham. When i made it for my girl, i always buttered the centers and toasted them in Kerrigold for her as a treat! She always gave me a little buttery kiss. Thanks for taking me back!

Now...top it off with sausage gravy. When I was a kid (age 7 in Canada), my first meal I cooked was eggs in a nest (egg in a hole). It was just egg and bread. As we get older we keep improving our dishes.

Hey CK, I am a fan of Kerry Gold butter just as you are. No doubt, it's a fine butter. Recently though, my local Walmart has a new butter on the shelf that is as good, and dare I say, better than the KG. It's the Vermont Creamery brand. They have three versions of it. I've only tried the version with the sea salt but I have to say, it's really nice. American made and less expensive. Give it a try.

Ooo... Make sure the egg yolk does not break, so it will drool all over once you bite into the sandwich. Always pre-butter your bread before putting them into the skillet. Use bacon lard instead of butter on the sausage. Cook the middle of the bread as biscuits with butter for a side, instead of putting them back in. Mmm...delicious.

Yet another great video to add to my recipe playlist! I make a toasted bagel with fried egg, back bacon and cheese but this looks alot more tasty and filling. Will have to find a similar type of sausage here in Canada though. Lou's Back Bacon is what to look for in Canada for those interested. Btw, any dog as tall as Cletus can and will counter surf or perform air strikes on a bbq:)

Cowboy is always so dang happy to be above the grass even though he starts at the ass-crack of dawn and the weather in OK seems like its always pretty unpleasant (for all the state's upsides). The positivity makes me smile. Keep up the good work, team skirt alert.
