Cody, you have really changed my life as a 10 year old swimmer and have inspired me so much. And you always brighten my day when i watch your videos. I dont think i would be the person i am today without you. You probably wont read this, But i just wanted to thank you so much and you have really changed my life.

I’m not crying, you’re crying!!!! I am so glad that everything is ok. Birth is a scary process. I’ve had 3 csections, for 3 boys; 2 of which I got to keep and bring home. Bringing life in to the world is life-changing.

Thank you for all your enthusiasm and encouragement it has help keep me happy. Yesterday our pool got shut down. I am 11years old and live in western NY. My best event is the 50 breast and my time is a 39.1 short course yards. I currently do a dry land workout for 1hours and 30 minutes a day. Your enthusiasm has push me through this though time.Hope you are my comment a have a great thanksgiving!

Most of the adult males that I know don't act like they would do anything no matter what so their child would live in care and support. I believe that's not because they are bad people or careless. I think the reason is that they've never thought about the scenario where they are the only person to be responsible for a child. Thank you very much for sharing with your experience. I had almost exactly the same experience as you - almost 100% identical - my first son was born C-section and my wife started losing blood and they rushed me and my son out. I had to spend the next 2 hours looking after him and not knowing how serious it was with my wife - it turns out very serious but they caught it and dealt with it... eventually... The surgeon was struggling to stem the bleed for a very long time. I had the same conversation (one-sided, admittedly) with my newborn son and said the same things to him as you did. I've never felt so along and helpless in that small window of time. Terrified but having to be practical because there was this tiny thing that needed me 100%. My life has never been the same since. The frame I see the world through is completely different, instantly. Thanks for being honest. It's reminded me of that time 12 years ago and how grateful I am for what I have. Thanks Cody. You're right. If you know, you know...

That change of perspective as a parent is certainly sharpened by even the possibility of loss. I am very glad that Ali is ok.

Hi Cody , I’m inspired by you and your dedication. In March (due to covid) I lost my full time job and started working part time (kinda cleaning job). I didn’t like it, as it didn’t what I studied for. But during that time I constantly reminded myself of yourself. You sometimes mention in your vlog how you didn’t have money and worked summer job cleaning cars etc. I just constantly reminded myself that, Cody reached these new heights, is an Olympic gold medalist and he conquered all the challenges through his dedication. I just reminded myself that Cody also did odd jobs, while keeping is target on the end goal. My thoughts were “Cody did it, I can do it”. Therefore now I’m back in full time job and loving it and taking your weekly dose of inspiration. PS: I admire the slogans that you put on top of your workouts.

I live in a small island nation. The old folks usually say when one is about to give birth that you are one foot in the grave and one foot out. And after giving birth, the midwives tell you how much you need to rest as your body is under trauma and you can easily slip away. I never understood any of that until it was me. I am happy everything turned out well. Enjoy your new lives!
