CB Radio Power Cord - Stryker Radio SR 955 Version 2 and V1 10 Meter Transceiver - Voltage Drop And What Happens When You Don`t Have Enough. Use AWG, Never Settle For Less! NOTE: Never crimp anything!! This only covers resistance in the positive (+) wire, keep that in mind, there's much more to the overall big picture. Those that know it show it, those that don't won't. Cleaner and meaner, not noise or toys. Subscribe, click notifications bell and Stay Tuned In. Read on.
Scope watts or nope watts, take your pick. Tired of misleading BS yet? If they don't show you or do so in a deceiving way, you've been mislead. Learn to identify "Golden Screwdriver / Software Jockeys and Scammers". *Note: There'll always be drama regarding my disgruntled competitors and their followers, they're just doing their best. When "Ready", pm me on Facebook including phone number. Contact information below, don't be in a hurry!
"Radios not only transform signals into waves, they transform waves into sound"
Meter swinging over-modulated radios with a noisy receiver and miscalibrated "S" Meter have been "peaked & tuned", comp-tuned or so-called Hi-Fi mods performed and misaligned by a Golden Screwdriver magician. Yes, magician not technician.
Internet, Facebook, and truck stop competition tunes are useless in the Real World. Not only do they produce a noisy receiver, they'll bleed your wallet and all over neighbors too! Years ago, while still accepting walk-ins, this was about 90% of all radio related issues and complaints from customers nationwide .. Still Is!!
***How to recognize***
They'll ask you to "look at the meter" or other test equipment stacked up the wall claiming that a pure waveform on a "O"scope isn't necessary. Odds are it's because they cant! If they did, they'd expose themselves as a Hack. RUN!!!
They'll poise their meter farm at you while making strange vocal sounds, whistling or injecting some unknown tone into the mic socket while trying to convince you that distortion is considered rms, average or Bird watts and usable power. NOT! Get That Part? PAY ATTENTION!!
Most don't have a clue what each unit of measurement represents, how to derive it or have an accurate way of testing but they sure do put on a show! This might look impressive to some but in reality, these tunes produce "Far Less Usable Power". Sound familiar? Many have fallen for these "tricks" so don't feel bad.
"Software Jockeys" claiming to be an "Engineer" (lol) don't do or show you anything useful at all. They either copy and paste (Plagiarism) or talk a lot trying to baffle you with their "BS" while hiding behind a pseudonym (Extra channels, Channel King Boards, CB Kidd, Stinger Boards etc). This type has no integrity, practical or "Real World Experience" at all whatsoever! Ever hear them on the radio? Right!
**Real World Performance**
Do your due diligence! Demand the testing and tuning of your equipment on a minimum 100 MHz *Analog* Oscilloscope, Bird 4314c meter or equivalent and a 1 GHz spectrum analyzer / Service Monitor with a NIST (www.nist.gov/) Traceable "Certification of Calibration". It's the only accurate way of measuring spurious emissions, harmonics and true power @ the fundamental frequency replicating "Real World Performance".
All test equipment and gear under test including meter, scope, spectrum analyzer, sampler, radio and amp if applicable must be in plain sight at all times while gear is under test, fully modulated. Inducing distortion though meter using un-calibrated test equipment is misrepresentation and an illusion playing on your ignorance while insulting your intelligence!
If they cant display everything all at the same time while under test, explain ac volts, pep, pk, cw, rms (Ohms Law), capacitance, inductance and the basic principles of a phase shift then how do you expect them to accurately test, tune or align your system? Ever wonder why they attempt to replicate or imitate everything I do and say but yet fail miserably in a deceiving way? They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but in this case it could be $$ out of you pocket.
Fine Tune CB adheres to NIST and other standards to maintain accuracy and consistency for providing "Real World Performance" with integrity. www.nist.gov/
The Bench: HP8924c Service Monitor. A comprehensive list below in the comments section including dBm to watts and volts tables.
"More range and reliability with peace of mind, get Fine Tuned, not peaked and ruined".
Don't let them play Three Card Monte with you because they will. Most importantly, find someone who's honest and competent, not part of Facebook CB related groups, a pseudonym on a forum, has a Service Monitor with a NIST Traceable Certification of Calibration and not just test equipment stacked up the wall trying to baffle you with BS. Never settle for less because that's what you'll get, Houdini tricks, ghost watts, "S9" out of calibration and a noisy receiver!

The Workman brand power cords (CB3AXX) are *JUNK* .. found on eBay, it's the three pin power plug that you're after. I really love using my CB radio... However, in the region I run in, ( Upper Midwest...Minneapolis, Green Bay, Oshkosh etc. ) I think I might be the only one with a CB in my rig! I hear more talk on the radio via skip than local. It's kind of sad actually. I always want to upgrade...Spend the money for a great radio.. Bells and whistles etc... But I would be talking to myself most of the time lol!

Just need the three-pin plug and the Galaxy wiring rig to properly modify for our use??? If so; links below! So (if I am understanding correctly) order...unscrew, save plug head and carefully remove the wire from crimped on leads. Toss wire. Then get yo'self some real Copper 12g AWG. Strip wire, attach/solder female pin crimps (removed from Plug head and original wiring earlier) onto the new wire. Carefully modify new plug and add new wire with pins to plug. The Plug will have to be carefully the to accommodate the thicker wire and insulation! Make wiring decently Short and do not forget to add a "blade" fuse inline. Fuse Amperage will vary based on your radio and its power needs. If at all possible, order Radio Wiring Harness Linked below and cut off the head and use that wire & fuses to create the new plug. Or at least that is what I am getting ;) Feel free to correct me if I am wrong :D Here ya go...I will see if I can find some additional resources! FOR WIRE: I believe this is the wiring and company that you spoke of in the video (???) stores.goldeneagleradios.com/galaxy-heavy-duty-power-cord-dx48t-93t-95t-95t2-rci-6300-6900f150-5054dx-connex-4600hp/ If someone is willing to investigate, these folks may also have what we are looking for here (???) www.gijoesradioelectronics.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=584 FOR PLUGS: This one uses a 12g (also a Morkman Model) Someshite wiring, but may be easier to install the thicker 12g AWG wiring! amzn.to/2wYrahn The rest of these are on the 16g Wire from Workman, but remember; it is the plug and crimp leads we are after. amzn.to/2wYx55M rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FWorkman-CB-3A-CB-RADIO-Power-Cord-w-3-Pin-Plug-and-16-gauge-fused-link-%2F121653193113%3F_trksid%3Dp2349526.m4383.l4275.c1%23viTabs_0&campid=5338292339&toolid=20008 rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FERR-CB3AC-CB-RADIO-3-PIN-POWER-CORD-COBRA-29-25-148-LTD-NW-ST-LX-%2F181376638337&campid=5338292339&toolid=20008

Great Job Eric McKay! These are the two things that you want. 1) Power Cord: stores.goldeneagleradios.com/galaxy-heavy-duty-power-cord-dx48t-93t-95t-95t2-rci-6300-6900f150-5054dx-connex-4600hp/ *This is the one, not the one with round fuse holder.* Get them while they last! 2) 3 pin Plug, Workman CB3AXX (less modification needed for large wire) www.amazon.com/POWER-CORD-Extra-HEAVY-radios/dp/B004XDLQLC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B004XDLQLC&pd_rd_r=2GRV0CPE6SHZ2K1QQ9EQ&pd_rd_w=jrqsq&pd_rd_wg=yMAXO&pf_rd_i=desktop-rhf&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=05d75987-58ed-4d36-bbfa-515cd87e4ee3&pf_rd_r=2GRV0CPE6SHZ2K1QQ9EQ&pf_rd_s=desktop-rhf&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=2GRV0CPE6SHZ2K1QQ9EQ&linkCode=sl1&tag=magisesse-20&linkId=87aeec0f518c2a537d2662722e59ebc9&language=en_US Let's see some pics when you're done and thanks for doing all the leg work! Just follow Eric's directions! Here are a few pics: facebook.com/163Hardrive/photos/pcb.1969667859764631/1969667073098043/?type=3&theater

No problem on the legwork. Glad to help somehow ;) Will send along either a vid and/or pics once I get the materials in and the time to do it ;) I may not understand everything that you do, but I understand automobile12v concepts (proper and clean Grounds and Positives with REAL Copper wire) and I understand a bit of your tuning process, as I have maintained a CB since the days a License/registration was required (That almost no one complied with). What I do know is that I have heard you call out on the radio clearly here in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Cuba Area, North of Las Vegas, Between Grants and Albuquerque, and between Moriarty and Santa Rosa...so what's the point? Simple; what you are doing just works! I can hear ya, but apparently, my Mud Duck doesn't make the trip back at ya. my poor Galaxy 959...never thought I would think of my radio as a Mud Duck ... LOL! Many thanks to you, hope I can help again in the future and maybe one day buy a radio and matched boots from you. Lazy Boy Santa Fe, NM Beebeep (73)
