@@InfoArtistJKatTheGoodInfoCafe we are entering the mutant of vocals era. I would to hear him cover your love, or our love mask singer, or I only love you. That's a challenging one in my opinion more than the high and low notes. Dimash created a tone for his breath. But I am glad to see the new era of singing is on a whole new level and century. Dimash already revolutionized music.

I don’t know if you noticed or not (you didn’t mention it , so I am not sure if you noticed), the runs he did were at the end of a very, very longly held breath (23 seconds to be precise) that started with a long held note, then a key change and followed by the runs, all done in one single breath that lasted for 23 seconds. His breath control is insane. Next please react to “Ogni Pietra/Olimpico” (but NOT the fancam version because the fancam has awful audio quality and sounds muffled, so please instead react to the official video from composer Igor Krutoy’s account, and here is the link to that video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtGAhpmlnZrVl2g.html

This analysis of Dimash's Sinful Passion ranks for sure among the top ones. I totally agree with your technical description of the "yodel" effect, that it is a controlled and very rapid flipping back and forth over the register break between mix and falsetto. (I do wonder whether Dimash is watching vocal experts struggling to explain what he is doing there with mischievious joy 😁.)

Thanks for the great reaction! You should probably react to Olimpico (aka Ogni Pietra) at Dimash’s solo Arnau concert next kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtGAhpmlnZrVl2g.html An Italian song this time. Very different to what you’ve reacted to up to now and this is from 2019 so more recent. Igor Krutoy (Russian billionaire composer/music mogul) wrote this song for Dimash’s range to sing at the Opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus in July 2019. At the first performance of this song at the European Games, you don’t get to see a lot of Dimash, since the athletes are parading around the track with their flags, which is why it’s best to watch a performance from one of his concerts instead and that’s the link I’ve provided. There are many performances of this epic song that only Dimash can sing, but this seems to be one of the most favourite performances that his ‘dears’ (fans) love!

hi, that "sound" starts with a "jodel" and turn into a "trill" in italian "nota ribattuta" is ethnic from Mongolia and other estern countries and then started that beautiful slide up to the key change very hig then beautiful runs ending with an huuuu the whole thing in only one breath 24 secs long (!!!!!!!!!!!!) absolutely fantastic; I usually say: there are singers, good singers, great singers and then there is Dimash the one and only. Stay safe

Greetings from the Seattle area, Christof. You have a beautiful voice yourself and I hope you will continue journeying though Dimashland and might someday even cover a Dimash song or two. I can already hear you singing "Your Love"---maybe even "Adagio!" I also hope to see you react soon to "Olimpico," "Love of Tired Swans," and "Love Is Like a Dream." Dimash has indicated it is important to him that his music be known in the western world. That should be important to those of us who love Dimash as well. That's why I am devoted to posting reminders about the passionate fans (Dears) from all over the world who have succeeded in propelling him to #1 in requests on MTV over the past four weeks in a row and the fact that they can use more help to keep him at #1. New fans who want to help keep Dimash at the top where he belongs should calculate their time zone difference and then tune into the MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream every Friday from 5-8 pm New York time and type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hours that the program is airing. It is the least we can do for him in return for all he has given to us.

I have no singing technical knowledge at all so I love listening to explanations of what makes Dimash special. And of course like all Dimash Dears I get so much pleasure in watching other people get so much pleasure from Dimash. It’s a weird phenomenon, we just have to see others getting blown away by Dimash as if we are the proud parent. we are all addicted, obsess and just a little crazy 🤪

The effect is called a Caprino, a type of trill. What a treat to hear a trained vocal coach with a serious voice analyze this!

Thanks for a great reaction. Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio who also accompanied him for this performance. At the end of the video, Dimash humbly thanked A-Studio. If you let the video run a bit more, you'll see a gentleman in white giving him a standing ovation. That's Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer, who's written several amazing songs for Dimash. The interesting vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in an interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish". Dimash modified the vocal trill by adding a Yakuti yodel technique to it and he did it to perfection. It’s wonderful that he’s introduced this classical technique into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.

A very enjoyable reaction and one of the best analyses I have heard thus far. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh KZfaqr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. Here is the link, in case you want to watch it. He is consistently perfect. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLCUhZiSreCnkYE.html
