I liked the original color but going to the wood finish was a thousand times better! Brian sounds great. What a transformation. Love it.

At first, I couldn't believe that you were polishing the screws - then I saw the results, and recognized that was going to make the bass easier to use and repair, so it was worth the effort! It's a great-looking instrument, and I haven't even gotten to the repaint portion of the program.

The best thing on this video: No music, just the video!! Just a relief.

Amazing work on the restoration, looks so good! Also, the fact that someone treated this bass so poorly, not even storing it in a case/gig bag to protect it from this stuff makes me sad. Like even a cheap $30 gig bag would have kept this in super good condition, the 1994 Fender Squier Stratocaster that my father learned guitar on that sat in a gig bag from 2005-2022 in a musty and damp cellar still is in near perfect condition shows how easy it is to keep instruments from getting like this.

Al Thor you did a very good job restoring this instrument, I think it’s fake how it got in to that condition in the first place, that part I think was created by you for dramatic effect!

That bass has earned its freedom! Thank you for liberating it from the hands of chaos.

Applause for the fine work you're doing. You've given me ideas. For the body (It appears to be alder, maybe) prior to applying the stain, give it 1 or 2 coats of Super Blonde Shellac (or sanding sealer-same thing). This will eliminate any splotching (uneven stain color) with the stain. Hope this helps.

A round of genuinely wholesome applause to you for rejuvenating what looked like a totally lost cause!!🎸 The brown stain finish on the body looked like it might not work, but with the pearl scratch plate it looks great. The bit I REALLY like is the varnished finish on the headstock-I have a cream/olympic white Squier 60s vibe Jazz with tortoiseshell plate and the head is a gorgeous golden varnish and that's what sold the whole bass to me. I still have people tell me its the best looking effort in my collection of five which includes an Epiphone Thunderbird IV!! I would've only made one slightly different adjustment to your Brian here - as well as replacing the controls, I would've also swapped the tuning peg tops where they are blistered, as they are quite noticeable. But Im sure you had a reason to leave them as they are...
