If you know your worth then go find a job where someone will pay you more… or even better start your own company and pay yourself. I don’t get it if someone is worth more then you should be able to go apply any another job and get a higher wage? In the past 3 years cost of living has increased in Minnesota by almost 50% but wages are not increasing to meet the cost of living which means people in Minnesota are actually moving down in the income brackets . How does The Fed calculate Inflation ? They calculate Inflation by the Wholesale Prices of Commodities in The Stock Market . As Inflation moves up in reality it means The US Dollar is loosing it's value and that means it takes more Dollars to buy the same product or service . When people work they are performing a service for their employer and if you are not getting an increase in pay that matches cost of living then you are DOING THE SAME JOB FOR LESS PAY . What is Poverty Level ? A single person working a non-college degree full-time job should be paying no more than 30% of his/her take-home pay towards housing and utilities , this formula changes when you factor in a family , but we will just use a single person for this comment . If wages don't start to rise to meet cost of living to balance out the economy we will continue to be in a recession . If people don't have money to spend the economy will suffer more .
