tbh the only reason to do stand up is to make money touring. otherwise, as far as doing "comedy" podcasts and stuff like that they not only suffice but even exceed it. im not talking about the craft itself - standup is pure and at it's best it is incredible. but cmon. 97% of these stand ups literally fucing suck so hard. shane is an exception to that for sure and there are others too. but the idea that doing standup is synonymous with doing comedy is wrong to me. people like rogan and all the other unfunny ass standups ruined it for me. they are WAY better podcasters than stand ups. I wish they would realize it.

@Millard Filmore I hate to admit it, just bc of what it means the reality of everything (everything being stand up, podcasts, etc. Comedy in general) is...but you are most definitely right. A lot of podcasters belong solely in podcast format. There are, however, many stand ups who are still hilarious on stage while having funny podcasts (and/or radio shows). My favorites being the bonfire boys.

I smoke a lot as well, and edibles almost don’t work on me. My girl and her friends took a gummy bear a piece and were tripping out.

There’s two factors: 1.) similar to Asians not having genetics/stomach enzymes to digest dairy or alcohol well, some people can’t process thc in their stomach to their liver, where it’s normally turned into a longer-lasting form of thc (hence the crazy edible high most ppl get). Some people literally cannot get high on edible cuz they can’t process them correctly they just pass through their digestive system. 2.) edible manufacturing can vary based on the kind of extract used (alcohol, butane, canna butter, rosin/non-hydrocarbon, etc). The effects of thc concentrated with different solvents or processes can vary, and then if you make a sheet pan of gummies or brownies and the extract pools in certain areas you can get parts of the batch/tray that are way stronger than other areas. Dixie is a Colorado company that got in trouble for this exact problem after a local news station tested the milligrams per unit of edible and found some with almost no thc. The Colorado cannabis industry has regulation and oversight from the CDPHE marijuana enforcement division who licenses and inspects businesses, but they don’t catch everything. Another example of this is if you grow a plant and have the top buds tested they will show 25-40% thc and you can sell the whole batch as that potent, when the bottom parts may have away less potency or even contaminated buds that made it to store shelves. I left the industry after 6 years cuz there’s some really wack practices going on and you can get paid more to work at Target now a days, they don’t really pay you well. But I try to share what I learned!

@@jonnyh5858 I've had edibles from elsewhere, they didn't really do that much good for me, but I mention my trip to Colorado because I was actually keeping up with MGs there. lol no matter what brand of edible I bought, what kind it was, none of it had me feeling so high that I couldn't move. I was eating hundreds of MGs at a time every single time I ate edibles there. I was also smoking blunts every, like... hour or so. All we did was hike and drive around and sight see all day everyday. I think my tolerance was absolutely just way too high.
