They've been prevailing over the British team for few years. The Jamaican team is closer than it ever was (check Doha and Yokohama). Just check some Polish footballers playing in Bundesliga: Robert Lewandowski, Jakub (Kuba) Błaszczykowski, Krzysztof Piszczek, Łukasz Podolski, Mirosław Klose etc... I’ve never heard a commentator (English or German) miss-pronouncing their names. Perhaps sprinters, no matter how good they are, don’t get the same attention as dudes kicking the ball Lol...

Podolski and Klose are of Polish descent, but they are German footballers. Without a doubt Lewandowski and even Błaszczykowski are easier to pronounce than Święty. Not to mention about Wyciszkiewicz.

Too bad that, thanks to Russian/East German „co-operation”, Ewa Klobukowska is out of the profesional sport for good. Not very many people know that she gave a birth to a son, after being striped of all her titles and medals. I’m old enough to remember that. Signing up a membership of the PZPR (Polish Communist Party) would safe her but she was too proud to do so. Let me tip my hat to this proud and unbeatable lady.
