Hey guys.
In this DCS World Simulator video I'm in the SU27 Flanker fighting Echo6 in the F14 Tomcat over the new Kola map, Hope you guys enjoy!
I love playing simulators, I started with Arma 3 and then I saw DCS World. I also enjoy War Thunder , Battlefield , Ghost recon, Squad , Rome total war, Microsoft Flight Simulator and more. I also enjoy World War II games including il-2 In DCS World i found all the jets that i wanted to fly in a simulator the F 16 Viper , FA 18 Hornet , F 15 Eagle , A 10 Warthog , SU 27 , Mig 29 , P 51 , Spitfire , AH 64 Apeche , Heuy and more... And if you will download MODs the options are endless: F 22 Raptor, SU 57 , A 4 Skyhawk , SR 71 Blackbird , Rafale, Gripen and the list goes on.
My PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
GPU: Geforce RTX 4070ti Super
RAM: DDR4 Corsair 3200 MHz 32 GBB (total of 4 sticks so 128 GB in total)

Fantastic video! As much as I love American muscle, I was never a big fan of the Tomcat. I got tired of seeing other KZfaq videos of it beating other fighters like the F-16, F-16 and the Flanker when they are clearly better at dogfighting than the Tomcat. This was so refreshing to see.

A good two-circle fight is almost independent on the other guy. Of course not entirely, but it really, really matters to just hit your sustained turning speed and hold it there. Small jinks if you have to, but be relentless. If you cut, bail, or reverse, you're likely f'd. Which he did and which you punished each time.

The Flanker is actually a very capable plane - a pity the systems are not fully modeled.

@@xxw379k That's a really good question. But I can only tell that in the beginning the Tomcat was a total UFO. Well over 30 degrees per second sustained? You got it! And that kind of BS was up all the way till the Alpha finally got out, which - I suspect - performs closer to how the actual Bravo should. As for the Flanker, it seems quite close to where I expected it to be. It's even a mediocre performer with direct control off - and that makes sense. Still, I believe the Cobra is not modeled quite right, but considering it's an extremely complex aerodynamic interplay of forces - that's probably something very well expected. Not that I saw a better Cobra anywhere else anyway.

GS tends to carefully select those who he flies against. At one point he made a mistake of featuring LS as a punchbag on his channel, and guess who was humbled... That said, since then GS has grown quite considerably, but if you assume LS wasn't doing his homework, you are in for a surprise. All in all, it would be interesting to see how do they stack up against each other these days.

Can anyone explain to me why only Russian aircraft are called "flankers?" It makes zero sense to me. Literally any aircraft can flank.

It's a NATO reporting name for the Su 27 and it's derivations with subsequent names that are usually different numbers in the Russian and the Chinese systems but could be identified with a letter so they do that with [reporting name]letter

Well, MiG-29 is called "Fulcrum" and every other Russian aircraft has its own NATO reporting name starting with the letter for the role of the aircraft: Fishbed, Fitter, Fulcrum, Flanker and so on for fighters, Bear, Badger, Backfire, Blackjack and so on for bombers. One thing to realize here is that it wasn't Russians themselves giving those "names" to their aircraft. The aircraft were assigned easy names in English to facilitate quick acquisition and battlefield information processing. Interestingly enough, with combat surface vessels it's a rather different story - they are still assigned NATO reporting names, but you might get the idea it's their actual names, since a lot of them are Russian or wel... semi-Russian. But that is also not the case.
