I played this with my friends and for one of the rounds the words were "Green" and "Owl". One person said "Forest", the other said "Duolingo".

I can really appreciate Matt's very specific and very true comparison of Bus to the last broken ass Sim City game they put out on PC. In that Sim City, the sim people's "logic mechanic" that determined where they would commute to work that day and what house they would commute home to was literally the same mechanic that the sewage systems in the game used to send poo to the nearest treatment facility. They almost never went to the same work or returned to the same house. I connected with that reference on a deeply personal level.

I got the last remaining Nippon Expansion at Pax. I was too late for the core game, but tracked it down on eBay. It's so good.

Blitzkrieg actually didn't have North American distribution at the time of Pax Unplugged (not sure if they have any now). We had 40 copies of it at the Lynnvander booth from the owner picking them up after seeing it at Essen and those 40 copies of the game and expansion Nippon! sold out by early Sunday morning. I picked up a copy and LOVE IT!

@15:11 There's a very similar "secondary track" in The Expanse Board Game where whoever is at the top of the track gets first shot at nabbing a card's secondary action at the cost of getting bumped to the back of the line. Great area influence game if you're a fan of the books/show.

I've played it once and (as a fan) the theme felt a little pasted on, but it was very satisfying as the OPA to mob a Martian battleship with a fleet made of scrap and blow it up.

I missed all the live panels this year at PAX Unplugged, a bit bummed about it, but I was competing in my first big competitive TCG event! Has the crew had any curiousity about the Transformers TCG? I dig how fast paced it is compared to other card games.

While I went to the SUSD one and enjoyed it, it was impersonal just due to the sheer size of the thing. They edited out their comments while settling in (before he says "welcome to the..."), in which they said this was the largest crowd they'd ever had for a panel. It was only topped at PAXU by the AI main game show. I wasn't that far back but it wasn't that much different than watching it on video. I feel like the AI games were a bit more exciting because of how everyone was coming up with things on the fly. I bet it would be more fun at something like SHUX with a bit cozier of an atmosphere.

Dunno what you mean dude... I found Roads and Boats, Paranormal Detectives, Ecos, Valley of the Kings, Medium, Bus. So that's a large majority of them. You're wrong and you should feel bad.

@@dontnormally having just bought The Ketchup Mechanic, German Amazon recommended Roads and Boats at 130€, apparently including some expansion. Not cheap, but well, it's a Splotter game.
