You don't redraw cards as the attacker for your second attack. If you have no more encounter cards your turn ends. The offense player only draws new cards at the start of their turn. Great video. You inspire me to have more fun when playing games!

This was fun. Cosmic Encounter is one of the few games where the play through is very entertaining to watch because of all the player interaction.

You have encountered a wild pip. She trys to bluff Brandon. It's super effective. Quinn is extra screwed.

Highlights: "Quinns is CHEATING" / "I am the best, I am the best, I am the best, I am the best in spa-ace" / Honorable mention goes to Pip's antlers.

Realising years after watching this the first time, that the Brendan-Pip "Negotiations" are like that scene in The Fifth Element.

I owned this game as a kid, the blue box one from 1986, probably too young to get it, so no-one would play it with me. No idea what happened to that game but sad I let it go. I hope to play it sometime in the near future. 30 years later ;)

Been watching Cosmic Encounter games since I'm interested in buying it. Are all the content (species, attack cards, etc.) here from the base game? Or are they using expansions in this video? (shot in the dark hoping someone knowledgable is watching this 6 year old video lol)

When players ally with the defender in a challenge, their tokens are placed on the “Saturn’s rings” looking section of the attack cone. (And of course the attackers are all placed on the wide end of the cone)

When the lizard guy won against Matt, he drew a new hand for his second encounter, right? If I read (and explained to my friends) the rules right - his turn was to immediately end his turn instead. Am I right or wrong on this? All the best /Esben

They must have changed some of the things around, 'cause I tried to find Pirate in the Wiki, but couldn't. I have no idea why Pip lost her power. And the whole thing was weird and hard to understand. And fun.

You can't offer a colony during negotiate as the attacker. Only the defending player can trade a colony.

Am I mistaken, or did they completely ignore the rule where if you attack someone and then subsequently beat them because they played a "Negotiate" card, the attacker must give the defender cards after the encounter is over?

Love this video and SUSD's reviews. Don't want to be a rules nazi but they do make a couple of mistakes during this game. Quninns suggests that they might have had double hazards if they had been drawing hazards (7 minutes in). There should only ever be one hazard per encounter even if several destiny cards with hazards have been drawn. I don't think Brendon should have drawn a new hand (49 minutes in). He should only be drawing new cards at the start of the turn, not at the start of each encounter. Matt draws the last destiny card on his winning encounter (52minutes in) which he shouldn't have drawn. It should have been shuffled with the destiny discard pile and a new card drawn. P.S. Temporal Anomalies - Rip them up and throw them in the bin, I hate them so much.
