It’s so interesting. The first two seasons of SUASD are pretty much on an equal footing with the Pythons in terms of invention and comedic entertainment. It’s so well written, performed and executed. I can’t think of anything that compares to it. Everything that was happening in 60s counter-culture Brit comedy is happening here too. It’s the same level of genius and energy. It’s all a bit heartbreaking to realise that this could never be made in this way now. It’s already as archaic as its mighty predecessors.

"Awesome! History kebab!" I have walked down that road myself. It went about as well as it did for Quinns, though my hallucinations involved anthropomorphic spear-wielding asparagus.
