In Sub-Zero's Avalanche variation, he gains access to Arctic Trap. This gives him some pretty good corner setups and makes his corner game one of the strongest in the game.
Credit to lord Tom Brady for the setup! This video is a variation of that setup and expands on the different options after setting it up.

@@drdepression4605 the ampliphied ice ball has won me so many fights... slide may be helpful, but can be really risky so you can't rely on that... sliding after the overhead is great, yeah... thin ice is a more zoning variarion, but i think the amp in ice ball ia his most helpful tool right now

It really isn't. Most of the cast has a way around this mechanic only a few have 2 or fewer options. Not only that Sub has to guess correctly on his 50/50's in neutral in order to get you into the corner in the first place (where it actually matters). In neutral people can just ignore it unless they're mindlessly just rolling forward or mashing. It's not ice clone but it adds a nice touch to his kit. Gives him a nice variation with a Mid.

Christopher Poole his overhead is easy to see coming and block. It’s not fast enough to rely on the mixup against good players

General Tozen when u play against a sub zero and u notice what they start up with usually it’s easy to catch on to. Like unsafe slides. Constant Over head start ups or constant low start ups it becomes easy to punish. Especially sub zeros thin ice variation the zoning tools in that variation are easy to defend against. What id watch out for is a gravy sub zero main that grab constantly after poking. But as a sub main he does have his ups and downs.

General Tozen slow over head start up. Unsafe slides. Punishable when a whole start up string is blocked. Out zoning sub zero. U can block the ice trap. U can punish sub zero easily. U just need to read how a sub player is playing. Once u notice a pattern use it as an advantage 👍🏽

Raz Tastic no you can just jump over it. Also is easy af to react to sub zeros overhead because of how slow it is, so you can just crouch block until you see the overhead coming
