Subaru Ascent - Michelin Guardian Wiper Install from Costco

Update as of 5/2024 - Seeing that there has been a new version of the wipers being sold. Potentially, the new wipers won't fit the Subaru Ascent 19'-22'. When its time for me to change the wipers, I'll let you know if there's a replacement from Costco. Thanks for watching. Quick tutorial about how to install Costco’s version of Michelin Guardian wipers to save our fellow Ascent owners the possible headache of 30 or more minutes trying to figure out how to assemble the multiple pieces.

THANK YOU!!! I’m in the SF Bay Area & we just had that huge storm on NYE. I didn’t realize how bad my wipers were until then. Now we’ve got a bigger one tomorrow! Luckily I did get these on sale at Costco. Most of the other videos showed it with a hook design. Thankfully it was just the same for the driver’s side! 💪🏽

Thanks a ton for this video. I have VW GTI 2019 and I was struggling to install the Michelin Guardian Wiper blade that I bought from Costco. After watching this video I was able to install it in less than 5 mins. Applicate your help!!!

2019 Forrester has same type of arm fastener. Video was spot on and made the job a snap (pun intended).

I just tried installing the Michelin Guardian+ wipers from Costco and the model that is sold currently (Spring '24) does not fit on the 2020 Ascent. I'm using the correct included adapter (B) for a 19mm wiper arm receiver, but on the arm there are small pins on each sides that prevent the Michelin wiper from sliding in and locking.

This does not work on my 2021 Ascent with the 2023 Michelin blades. The adapter you used is not included any longer and the new adapters are too wide to fit the car’s wiper arm.

yep, I've used these before but found out the hard way today that they stopped including an adapter that fits the Ascent. Screw you, Michelin and whoever the maker of these blades is.

Subaru’s needlessly deviating from the norm. “Look at me, my wipers don’t connect the way those boring hook type ones do.” Same with the 5x100 rims, but at least the newer ones are moving to the more conventional 5x114.3

I was very happy when I saw this video. Although I really appreciate your effort in putting this video out, Michelin does not provide all those adapters. I checked four packages and none of them have it.

I think I got a package with the cover already on even though a spacer was inside. I cannot lift the cover up at all in order to install it. Will be returning this blade to Costco.

So I bought these and installed the connector to it, my question is how do I take the connector out since I don’t need that part because mines are the hooks. It’s on pretty tight and won’t come out. Any ideas??

Recently purchased a newer model of Michelin wiper blades "guardian". Included adapter looks a bit different and does not fit Subaru holder. I know for sure previous (3-4 years ago) model of the same Michelin blade perfectly fit the same car, just like on this video. Very frustrating :)

Thanks for the guide. I got the older wiper blade model from Costco and those don't fit. I went and exchanged for the newer model at Costco and they're happy to do it.

Subaru says in manual you have to use their blades because they will interfere with eyesight system. Is this true?

Try it with the rainx. No adapter the fits the subaru.

@@tangojulietjourney6068 I think they are. They do have a push button connector, and a piece is removeable to make it fit 2 different sizes of them.

@@TheMolassesCookies Same problem here. I broke down and looked at the instructions. There was a BC part shown which breaks down into B and C depending on the application. It almost fits, but isn't quite right and won't go in the last 2-3mm to click in. Very frustrating.

Don’t waster your time. It doesn’t work. Purchased for 3 cars. Two done in 10 minutes spend a lot of time plus had a mechanic neighbor help. It doesn’t work on the Accent.
