almost 1.5 years and still loving the wheel/tire combo, yeah? I'm really considering a smaller version of that for my non-lifted Forester.

Yes! I’m still loving this combo! You can fit the same without a lift, and you should!

Yeah, on brand new trails I prefer to just drive and have fun. I’m happier filming on a trail that I’ve done before, I know what sections are the most interesting.

It’s fun once you know it can be done, haha. I was leading on the way into the trail, and it certainty surprised me. Fortunately I had traction control OFF. If it was ON, then I could have spun a wheel and the computer could have cut power, lost my momentum, and gotten stuck.

Just curious, what should I expect during winter months and general offroading, I own a 2023 base model forester without X mode, How big of an advantage is X mode to have and will I be at a huge disadvantage because of this? I'm worried my offroad ability will be lacking because of this. I would love to see more videos without X mode enabled and how it performs during exercises like this in the video or in general, Thanks.

Good question! You’ll be fine without x-mode. The car still does the same stuff, it’s just a little slower to react and help. You’ve got to remember to keep your foot down, keep the wheels spinning, and give the computer a little extra time to work.

Mate, as far as I know all forester trims gets x-mode, and the top trims gets the second x-mode, so you should check that and you should be all good :)

The 2nd one has a different shaped bumper, too, which probably helps with less splashing.

I am novice as well - what is the downside of going too fast? I imagine having good moment would prevent your car from sinking in the mud? I am always scared if I go too slow that I will just get stuck.
