In Australia; the normal 2.5L Forester gets about 8.7-9.7L per 100km for combined cycle. The hybrid e-boxer forester gets about 8.1-9.2L so it's a very mild hybrid setup. As opposed to Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which is a night and day difference in terms of fuel against their NA model. So i'd say - get the normal Forester if you're after this generation model :D Else if you're looking at Hybrids right now and can stomach a wait, go Toyota; else wait for next gen Subarus in 2025 which will apparently have a brand new proper hybrid system as they're looking to EV as well next gen

I agree on most of that. New prices for the Subaru range are shocking. Superb cars but very overpriced when you think of other brands and similar cars, although you cant really compare Subaru to anything else so it makes price comparisons kinda pointless. Id like another Subaru, had three but it does concern me a bit that they might pull out of the UK at some point. They simply cant be selling enough to survive and thats why a lot of dealers have multiple brands. Too many people obsessed with German cars in the UK.

Not true… he’s talking claptrap. They build outstanding cars. It’s simply their UK marketing and dealer network, it’s abysmal.

@@kavipatel374 we got the Hybrid forester here in Australia and it's very much underpowered for any reasonable use case as opposed to say Toyota's hybrid system. You're looking at a fuel saving w/ the Hybrid in everyday traffic of like 0.5L per 100KM on a combined cycle for the price tag and stuff you're sacrificing for it. The hybrid Crosstrek (or XV) is the same deal, it's just not ready ; hence why it's a piece of crap atm. Wait for the next 2025 gen models which will apparently adopt Toyota's hybrid setup for actual gains with a hybrid.

@@chloescanlon1107 Subaru's are nice; my mates has loved and cared for Subarus for ages and swear by it as long as you're maintaining it properly and not neglecting it. I just bought myself a Forester MY23 (non-hybrid version) and it's a marvellous car. I'm not saying to avoid Subaru - i'm saying to avoid this current generation of Hybrid Subarus, don't buy into it .. wait a bit more for them to get it right. The normal 2.5L Foresters are a dream to drive at the moment for me (coming from a VW golf R).

@@AtimusLOL In the UK we only get 2 litre engine in the Forester. The 2.5 would be great, I really like that engine in the Outback.

Engine makes more noise in any car if you change down. Boxer engines are vocal, you should know that. They LIKE to be revved, and often need to be at least 3k rpm before they pull. I know, ive had three. Nothing wrong with this Forester. Im inclined to think that maybe its your lack of patience these days on the road thats the issue, and not the car. The road isn’t a racetrack.

I made my comment re how I have found the cars. You know nothing of my patience nor how I use the road ( I do not race on the road ) I would suggest you keep your comments confined to the car. @@oddities-whatnot
