Okayu is right, Subraru has improved a lot with her gaming skill as time has gone on. She made it way further and got way more stars than I would have expected someone playing the game for the first time to be able to do (with her Sensei's help of course). She truly does have protagonist power, getting better and learning from each mistake she makes.

Something I learned watching Subaru over the years is that she tends to accomplish whatever goal she sets for herself, regardless of how difficult it might seem. Get better at gaming? Okay, lets do it. Learn english? Got to keep grinding. Subaru is a very, VERY, driven person. She WANTS to be better at everything she does.

This collab had way too many great moments! I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you which one's my favorite! Notes: Sorry for the reupload! My software burned the subs onto an old file that still had an editing mistake, so I had to remake the video. 3:25 - They're singing "Gurenge" by LiSA, which is one of the openings for the Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series. 8:05 - "Almond, almond!" is what part of Usada Pekora's introduction ("Domo, domo!") was misheard as by fans, which became a pretty big meme. 12:56 - "Onigiryaa" is the name for Okayu's fans.

Okayu coaching Subaru on how to approach challenges is the kind of bonding situation you don't get as much in today's gaming atmosphere; their discussion of the Cool Cool Mountain slide, especially. Okayu has Subaru assess exactly what makes the slide difficult for her, what mistakes she made, and then use those to figure out a plan of attack to improve and overcome the challenge. Critical thinking, owning your fumbles, and problem solving are borderline "forbidden techniques" these days.

Going from watching LTG and DSP clips to these two is a world of difference. These two have fun, learn from the experience, and provide positive entertainment. LTG and DSP are just constantly raging, begging, and insulting the few fans they have managed to retain.

4:14 "This is a highlight" what's it like for the Holomems to speak directly to the clipper lmao. 6:15 The best part about Subaru falling for this is that before she did this stage she actually recognized Whomp's Fortress as the stage from the infamous moment where Okayu tricked Pekora into shooting herself into oblivion. So she's seen Okayu trick someone with that mission before and still fell for her plot lmao. Other idols: "I'm going to an idol meeting!" 12:47 Okayu, in a lewd voice: I'm gonna pee myself! I only got the catch the first few hours myself but I'm glad we got this absolute blast of a highlight reel. Thanks for the subs!

The full stream of this was a blast; I watched it in parts over a weekend and the whole experience of the desert level is probably one of the highlights of the video. Subaru's epic battle to best the quicksand and finally overcome her rival: the flying Shy Guy.

I always thought of Okayu as an anime girl take on Chowder because purple foodie cat named after a food and running a restaurant, but the "bad kid with heart" way she's teaching and trolling Shuba and Peko proves she's a little like Gumball as well. The chill is still uniquely hers, though. And then there's her speedrunning prowess. She good kitty.

10:46 I’ve never seen anyone do this star as intended. Most people long jump for it or, if they’re more familiar with the game, warp to the cannon above it. I’m surprised Okayu didn’t mention the other methods after Subaru finally got the star.

Subaru's still in the walking-with-slight handholding gamer stage. Besides, it'll get her used to fine movement. And "standard" ways aren't always the only intended ways, especially for a game like SM64. Heck, wall jumping in the NES Mario games was an intentionally kept glitch, just like rolloff jumping in the SNES Donkey Kong Country games was, except only the latter is treated as a standard technique.

@Vtuber Zaibatsu: The troll they did to each other about shooting at the sun, their is one place that it actually does something usefull, but it does not give you a power-star for doing it, and the place it actually work is the secret level mario over the rainbow, since the cannon is far down bellow the only way to go up is with the cannon and the Wing cap, by aiming for the sun you will be high enough to go into a cannon that it is higher.

Bakachin iirc is a dialect form of baka yarou (forgot which dialect), synonim to bakamono, bakatare, baka yarou. Usually in softer tone like scolding a child

this was an awesome 15 minutes I spent. 10:45 also does it feel weird when someone ever touches those arrow lifts. Like I have never seen anyone not long jump or warp to the cannon above the star before ...that just made it a spectacular 15 minutes I spent.

At around 8:00 do they say “kawaii” or “kowai”? Sub indicates cute/“kawaii” but it sounds like “kowai” to me. Anyone else? Not trying to criticize the subs but as someone slowly learning the language I’m just trying to understand as I hear things I recognize and those two sounds similar so some direction would be nice
