Not enough info about the vehicles being towed, I’m especially interested in the towing power of the Crosstrek.

Can you please talk about the actual weights the Outback towed including provisions? Thanks

We towed about 900kg in our 2023 Outback and it was terrible. If left in auto it rev would out to 4,500rpm on a slight incline where as if I drove as a manual it sit on about 2,500rpm between 90 and 100kph. Went through nearly two tanks of fuel from Mildura to Southern Adelaide hills. Having towed with a turbo diesel Toyota Fortuna and our 1.4ltr 2019 Skoda Octavia both were superior and unfussed with fuel consumption increasing by about 1.5 and 2.5ltrs. We love our Outback but for camping we have had to ditch the camper and go to swag to get to our remoter spots. On a recent trip to QLD we returned 7.0ltrs/100 over 4,700km loaded with car fridge and other gear but not towing. We were impressed. But to tow, not worthy and it's a shame. The turbo version should be low boost turbo just as our Skoda and should be available (like it is in the USA) on entry model. I think the advertorials Subaru puts out should be truthful and show revs doing the speed limit at 100kph, as I not seen any videos showing the engine working while towing at these speeds.
