I love that HKS SQV. I bought a mk3 Supra that had one and I just never got rid of it, kept it for every boosted car I had after that. Currently drive a 20 year old Lexus RX so it functions as a paper weight now but that’s ok

Apparently it’s a hks bov with recirculation kit so it really doesn’t need to be tuned. If it was hks bov then a speed density is needed with a tune. Sounds good regardless

⁠⁠⁠@@saiyanelite3589if you go to 26 seconds in the video. You will see the plastic clear O ring. That is a recirculation fitting. Where I get the information from? Subie group / business that have the product / people that have the product in their sti. I have a sti also and the hks bov with recirculation kit was my first to get part but I changed my mind. I will get it one day but I will have speed density to tune it so no recirculation

@@Entity_STI yeah i’m on speed density, haven’t noticed much of a difference in performance honestly but i’m picking up my car today from the shop they threw on the FP Black turbo turbo smart 50/50 bpv so i guess i’ll find out today how it feels

My factory recirc has a super loud dump and I've always wondered why... All my car has is intake exhaust and tune. I hear a very loud spool and a decently loud recirc dump

It’s cus it’s a bypass valve, all you got to do to make it louder is open up the piping before the turbo, on my car, that was the intake and the turbo inlet pipe, mine is super loud with the stock bypass valve.

doesn't need a tune because you can't tune for measured air that isn't recirculated . mass flow sensor systems don't like and don't function with a blow off valve

Literally the worst thing you can do to a subaru with a top mount. You will be running so rich after the air vents to atmosphere. You will ruin your o2 sensors

Now take it off and put the factory bypass valve back on. Trust me when I say that those do nothing but make your car run worse and get old after a couple weeks. And no, you can't tune for it unless you change your engine management to speed density, it will always have a negative affect on your car as long as you're running a Mass Airflow Sensor. I'm just trying to keep your car running right, take care.

Aka, bypass valve. You can switch standard bypass valve cars to a blow off valve, depending on the vehicle. Some cars it messes with the MAF sensor, others it doesn’t.

different part completely. bpv/bov and wastegate are both are used to control boost and sti has both (bpv, not bov) but bpv is on the intake side and wastegate is on the exhaust side

absolutely it is. under no circumstances should you swap your bpv to bov no matter what anyone tells you without a long discussion with your tuner.

They are not bov the stocks are bpv which aren’t supposed to make much noise because they recycle the air instead of throwing it out which makes the sound bov are really bad for Subarus if not tuned for it
