The women sing about a man hunting a stag. That is a beautiful traditional song...in the first part is presenting the mountain scenery with the river flowing and sunbeams slipping through the trees... it sets a context and slowly building up tension as the hunter finds the stag laying in a forrest clearance. Portraying how the hunter stretches its bow and shots the animal and then the narration is switched to the stag as if its asking the forrest why he hadn't been warned of the danger. That "du du du" thing is a stylistc motif that adds melody and rhytm... Beautiful interpretation, they take what is best in romanian folklore and respectfully turn it up to eleven

Subcarpați (translated Subcarpathians, not "Under-the-Carpathians" or whatever my fellow Romanians have translated it in other react videos) is a collective of more than 20 people producing under the Culese din Cartier label, their music is a blend of Romanian folk music and hip-hop, infused with dancehall and dubstep - they described it as "underground folklore." One other project of theirs is Fratii Grime, a Romanian grime project that faded away after Vali Umbra (he and MC Bean (the artist with long hair) started the project) decided to leave the band in order to spend more time with his newborn kid.

This is actually a mashup of 3 songs.. kinda. 1. Romanian folk song with a modern instrumental part. This is actually a Christmas carol, which can be surprising for some people, especially since the lyrics have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas - they are about a young man hunting a stag. A lot of the very old Romanian Christmas songs are about hunting because this holiday has overlapped a wayyy older one - around the winter solstice our ancestors would hunt and sacrifice animals in order to feed the Sun (the sun appears smallest on the sky on the winter solstice, so the people would feed it; after that, the sun began to "grow") 2. Song about a shepherd looking for his sheep. He greets an old wolf and asks him if he had seen them. The wolf answers that he had, and it is implied that he ate them. 3. The rap part is about the beauty of the Romanian language, how they want all the world to know about it, how they like to sing in concerts and so on. UPDATE: the dude with the 2 braids is MC Bean, the kid is his son.

These sisters are from Moldova, the neighbor of Romania, if you are interested. Just to know , both country represent the same people or customs, folklore. We were One country before, but now we are separated. But nobody can destroy the bond between us which is in music, culture, language ;)

This *"subCarpați" band* is amazing; actualy, their greather "weapon" is working with other bands and mixing out well their "history" As someones just explained you allready the lyrics of the clip, i wanna give you some more information... This band works out highly mystycal sh*t... thats why are so burning out (they are inspired), and even moore than the beats, the mesages they send are underworld. Also, *"ielele" song this womans are singing proofes that african woo-doo is left behind... (Let me explain you short) as in U.S. they are keeping the Halloween party or Valentines in the same way we *(romanians)* have our *ancient* feasts for many generations(over thousands of years)... going deeper in history, you'll find that our nation is ancient and even when we were destroyed several times from several great empires, this culture keepeth us together and remembered us from where we come. This sh*t is deep man, thats why you feel the (blue) fire in their "strings"... Sincere, i am scared of this stuff, because as in woo-doo, they have (sometimes and somehow) "bounded" people together even I'f they didn't wish. There's an interesting study by *Christian Berdahl -(10 docs about the history of music in europe) called "distraction's dilemma" - * developing the ideea of being possessed by some lower spirits while getting involved in such kind of music. I'f you have time to see them all you'll understand my point (the fire you feel, the hair rising up on your skin), and see why am scared. "SubCarpați" band means "under the carpathians(mountains)" and those clothings they wear, the handmade stuff they use, all are 100 % traditionall from our country, promoting our nationalism all over the world.
