I like using this shrink wrap because it is transparent and the material is much stronger than the white shrink wrap. I find with the white shrink wrap it is to soft and melts very fast and i rather the one i sent you in the link which is much stronger and grips the tumbler better.

Thanks so much for your comment, your support and asking your question. I appreciate it. Lets talk about the shrink wrap sleeves. Yes they are 8x12 and I choose these ones because of the function of them, the product specifications and base on testing both. Let me explain and break it down. To help us stay on the same track I will refer to the sleeves as CLEAR and WHITE. The CLEAR SLEEVES I use and the WHITE SLEEVES most persons use. With the Shrink Wrap Sleeves I used in the tutorial video these are some positives I found. 1. The material is a much harder plastic type. 2. The size is much better which gives me more room to play with. Yes they are 5x10s, 7x10s and 7.5x7.5 sleeve sizes but the brands are always different and I will explain further down. 3. With the CLEAR SLEEVES the temperature for F and C can go way higher and not burn or melt the way the WHITE SLEEVE would. 3. I found working with the CLEAR SLEEVE gives me the best results all the time 100% because as mention before the material is much of a harder plastic and if i need to keep the item not only tumblers but any other item in the oven longer, the CLEAR SLEEVE does not burn or melt away as the WHITE SLEEVE would. Sometimes it also comes down to the type of Brand. In my experience I tried both the white and the clear and what I have found is that when I use the white sleeves the material is much of a softer plastic and sometimes if you keep the heat gun to long on it, then it starts to melt or burns holes. I'll still say upfront that the white sleeves give great results but I rather the bigger and much harder plastic as it gives me enough room to work with and make any adjustments I need. One other reason why I would use the larger size in the CLEAR is because at the moment the supplier did not have the smaller sizes in the CLEAR SLEEVES. In relation to your second point I can totally understand you and one thing I would always mention and recommend to persons is this. Always work with your budget. For example, before I had the oven in the video, I also used an countertop oven and it worked great. Once you know your machine/oven and you understand how you need to average when baking then you are good to go. I also teach classes for sublimation and silhouette and one of my students had an very old oven. This oven use to get hot using a fan which would then generate heat and the student asked me if it would work that she felt it would not. I told her to believe that it can work. Once you can get heat and the correct temperature in that oven then you monitor it. To the students surprise the tumbler she did came out perfect and I was even shocked. So work with your tools until you are ready for the next step.

@@atprints Thank you, thank you, thank you! Those exact clear sleeves have been in my shopping basket since I posted my comment. Now that I understand what those dimensions mean, I'm going to "pull the trigger" on that order. I've also purchased a more detailed oven thermometer for that lil 'ole oven. Thanks also for encouraging me. I should have remembered that there are officious twits in every FB group, and I let these chickees get me down while I was questioning. As a way of saying thanks for your EXCELLENT advice, I'm going to give you a link to what IKEA calls an IVAR bottle rack. When I'm ready to wrap a tumbler, I tape the first edge to the top and bottom, to stabilize it. Then, when I bring the second edge around, it's the only one that wants to shift. The whole time, the tumbler is cradled in one of the loops in the rack. It makes the process of taping so much simpler. (Well, I also pre-cut a few sections of tape to wait on the edge of the table, so they're ready to apply to the seam & edges.) When it comes to shrink wrapping the tumbler, I have the IVAR Bottle Rack laying on a large sheet of heat shield nylon & my gloved hand just needs to turn the tumbler as I hit it with the heat gun. @@dontworrybehappy8493 Thanks very much. I actually built a mug andn tumber holder out of pipe and noodles. I will looked at the bottle rack and its really nice. Keep pressing forward and remember most printing steps are trial and error first before you get better. No one started out been the best. At some point people make big and small mistakes so keep pushing and advance your business.
