The Redbull car has always had flaws; it's just that the other cars were so bad that Redbull was able to get away with their flaws. Now that the other cars have gotten better, the Redbull flaws are really showing.

Why is no one talking about Yuki! He was a red bull young driver. He’s leading Alpha Tuari, he’s personally acquired 75% of their points. He’s competitive in attack and defensive ability. If they put Yuki in a red bull the Japanese sponsorships would roll in offsetting Perez sponsorship loss.

Nice discussion, got me thru my work out. I’m glad Max spoke about his struggles after the accident as brings a human element to the sport, I know sometimes us fans tend to forget that. I wonder if he has the passion to go the distance like a Hamilton or Alonzo? Only time will tell. Keep it up guys!

I often wonder if British F1 press would still be writing about 2021 if Silverstone had been the last race of that season, with Lewis securing and celebrating a win after causing that crash. There was no discussion about who was at fault there by the stewards.

The driver who has been out racing and out-qualifying in some cases this year, given the American market and the move to a Ford-powered engine, makes perfect sense to me and the entire business of how Red Bull operates to have Logan in that seat. Otherwise, if they want to play with house money, it is Danny Ric, and neither are based on overall race performance to replace Checo. So, you see, Checo is still a very good option. As for the interseason trades, Carlos’ dad vs. Jos, there are too many daddy issues going on right now about who can drive what. Arcade RB# car of the past is all about gravity, and unfortunately, the floor has been taken from underneath them literally.

I like the idea of % between drivers, though you say both were rookies, and that's correct they were not exactly the same experienced rookies. Carlos had alot more open wheel experience wich would have helped him alot also overall % makes stand out races kinda irrelivant. And Max stand out races in 2015 far far outshined Carlos stand out races. It would be interesting though to see how much the difference is now between the two, who improved the most.

Listening to other podcasts, there is a rumour that horner signed Perez's request for 2 years so that he could have his current contract revised to include the alleged 100 points performance clause. Another point. If Perez gets sacked midseason, I think there's only 3 drivers Horner can choose from: Yuki, DR, or Liam. Out of these 3, DR is most suited to Max's front wheel RB and I think is RB's safest pick to maximise points, but also politically for Horner and financially for RB. Agreed that Yuki is the better driver this year, but I'm not sure if he's better in the RB. Not sure if they have enough time to let him get used to the different philosophy of the car. The bigger question is whether they'll try and retain Perez in VCARB, again for financial reasons, or whether they sub in Liam, which I'm thinking he didn't do enough during his driving test to convince Horner.

Shout out to surgeon Shez. I have to disagree about Hulkenberg being a prisoner of the moment choice for RBR. Aside from it being talked about as early as 2021, I think it’s mainly a great personality fit. I see him being happy getting podiums and generally being less drama than someone like Sainz, who has already accomplished a lot in F1 and harbors ambitions that are arguably beyond his abilities.

Great discussion you guys have great point of views. But the cynic in me keeps thinking Max didn't actually say this exact quote because based on he speaks in his previous interviews something seems off. Since there is no video of him saying it, perhaps this is his point of view through someone else's words. Just something about the phrasing of those words is so different than how he speaks in interviews, (he uses, "undulating circuits) I find it hard to believe he said this exact thing out loud. More likely his statement was revised or written by a PR manager, who based it on what Max described. To clarify I don't think he's lying about his condition but I just don't believe the exact quote was all him. And if I really wanna flame the Lewis Hamilton conspiracy theorists than I gotta say the timing is sus. He had every opportunity to say it but it comes out exactly as Lewis wins. Like he couldn't have waited till after Hungary or even at Hungary, or at any point during the years in between now and when it happened. I don't know. Redbull can be petty. But again just another wild theory.

A balanced line up for me is a clear number one driver and a competent number two driver . On paper that's Max and Checo. In reality we know how that worked out. That RB20 is not a fun car to drive, not even for Max who has complained profusely about the setup so it is no surprise that Checo's performance has gone backward. Liam's numbers on filming day don't mean a thing in comparison because I doubt that they would have allowed him to go full beans. Checo's crash bill is still fresh on their minds. The Sainz's will not go for a short term deal nor will they accept being number two and on top of that the price tag is pretty steep. After all this time it is understandable that Carlos wants to be the number one and fight for a world championship. After being a journeyman for so long he want some stability. Don't know that he will get that at Red Bull but I'd love to see him reunite with Max. As for Charles, do we think he is conditioned by the way Ferrari works? Does it influence his decision making?

Are you playing Team Principals? Shoving race-drivers left, right and center. The more often I listen to your podcast I imagine you are getting completely absorbed in words that sound more and more important, as if there are 3 grown up boys imagining themselves in the directors seats at an all deciding F1 meeting. Three? 3? Yes, you two and me the third one. The one at the head of the table. He who listens and takes the final decision. *PS. To my disappointment I just found out that there are a couple of thousands more third-ones at the head of the table. It is visible in the comments.

12:44 🤔 Charles thought he can outperform the car? Huh? I think it’s just a bad strategy car. I think you’re looking to deep into that decision. Poor strategy. Same with checo going on the inters. They were just trying for something different I guess. In the past yes I’ve seen Charles trying to outperform the car and crashing or going off. Some this season too. I think your Silverstone example isn’t the same. Just poor strategy trying to do something different.

Carlos would be a great choice for replacing Checo but that can't happen until 2025 season. But Carlos would be a good insurance plan for 2026 Max/Mercedes flirting. I don't think it will happen. RB still needs to do something this year. I think they should elevate Yuki or Ricciardio and see what they can do. How can it be worse than right now. I would be brave and elevate Yuki. Ricciardio or Yuki are likely to be better than Checo.

This is what I think about the Perez-Red Bull situation. I haven't heard this proposal from anyone yet, but rationally speaking I think the best solution to the Perez-Red Bull problem is, immediately or at most during the summer break, Perez to RR (a large part of the sponsorship money is retained), Lawson to RR , Tsunoda to Red Bull and Ricciardo out.
