Thanos needed the power stone in order to charge the rest of the stones. He needed the space stone to be able to transport anywhere, so those were the first two most important stones. He needed the reality stone to trap Gamora and force her to reveal the location of the soul stone. He needed the soul stone to battle Dr Strange and get the time stone on titan. He knew beforehand that the Avengers would attempt to destroy the mind stone so he needed the time stone to reverse the damage and obtain the mind stone.

I love the time stone one. The secenery, sounds, facial expressions. It just seems so hopeless at that point.. he already beat everyone, still gets it and levels up.. It had me full of anticipation for the rest of the movie because it had me wondering...how do they even win at that point.. considering how strong Doctor Strange was with it.

He then kills Loki (maybe) and Heimdal, Ebony Maw hands him the tesseract, obtaining the Space Stone, which they then use to teleport to earth. The black order come to New York, while Thanos is stealing from the collector, he grants the ability to change reality; Starlords laser guns are now bubble shooters, he takes Gamora and switches reality to normal. Thanos and Gamora Travel to Vormir, they meet the red skull, and Thanos must sacrifice Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone, which he does without mercy. Thanos ventures to Titan, almost kills Iron Man, leaving no other choice for Doctor Strange, but to had over the Time Stone. Wakanda is being attacked by the black order, Corvus glaive takes vision but hulkbuster (Bruce banner) stops him, and sends Cull Obsidian flying into outer space, when Thor jumps in to wakanda, Thanos then defeats the avengers, rips out the mind Stone from visions head, and then snaps his fingers, after Thor had brutally stabbed him in the heart with his _new_ stormbreaker. Deaths: Ebony Maw Bucky, Black Panther, Falcon, (almost) all the wakandan warriors, Scarlet Witch, Groot, Starlord, Doctor Strange, Mantis, Drax: I didn’t see him fade away though, spider man. Kinda love how the Time Stone elegantly flows through Thanos's body instead of just shooting out violent energy waves/sparks into his body or into his surroundings, lime basically all of the others did.
