Sometimes I feel like these 2 were only put in to make your life miserable when trying to explore a wreck. I physically jumped out of my chair once when I came out of a wreck and heard a Reaper roar and I got all on edge (I had 20 HP left) and a Sandshark jumped out of the ground and gave me a jumpscare worse than any horror game ever.

I love Bonesharks (I think they're cute), but ever since one destroyed my seamoth I've taken extra precausians when there's more than two around. The sandsharks, however, are so...floppy and inept that I pity them more than I actually fear them. They just...they try so hard to bite you, but just end up flopping all over the place. Sometimes I'll go and harras them, just because I think their animation is so funny.

I actually didn’t know the bonesharks in the primary containment unit where passive, I just avoided them automatically and was a bit too scared to get close enough to test it Especially since I’ve had some bad experience with these guys, like swimming out off wreck with already low health, hearing that noise and trying to swim away to my seamoth before getting cut up by another one seemingly from nowhere, before playing the game I didn’t think they were that scary but damn I was wrong

I love the Sand Sharks. They’re so cute! You just kinda feel bad for them. They try their hardest to try and get you, but they just flop around. Bone sharks, on the other hand, are what the sand sharks try to be, but worse. They never leave me alone and love attacking my Seamoth, even though I’m 10 meters away. So annoying

@TylertheCC1010fan
@TylertheCC1010fan 3 жыл бұрын
Well they are ambush predators, like the Crabsnake, Ice Worm Leviathan, and in a way the Reaper Leviathan, what I consider to be a good example of a "Stealth predator" is Below Zero's Shadow Leviathan, it's sounds aren't as loud as the Reaper's but aren't quiet enough to the point you can't hear them, and it's counter shading on it's body really helps it be stealthy, and it's bio luminescence is in the right places and right amount for you see it but not enough for you really figure out what it is, it is the perfect example of how to have minimal bio luminescence on a predatory leviathan but not to the point that most people can't even tell it has any, like with the Reaper.

Is there a video on Gasopod lore? I wanna know how they developed one of the most lethal defense mechanisms I've seen in a Subnautica creature. I raised one Gasopod and set four bonesharks loose on it. Results were the Gasopod survives and casualties included four bonesharks, one stray stalker, and a rabbit ray. The boneshark squad died within seconds of being caught in the toxic gas. I'm thinking utilizing Gasopods to patrol a Reaper spawn site to distract and possibly kill the leviathans off to make it substantially safer to explore the area.

I believe that the ancient skeleton is distantly related to the bone and sand shark, as well as the pheta specimen, granted their armor is different it could very well be that the ancient one eventually evolved their armor to be separate from the spine. The main clue is all the holes along the ancient skeleton that most likely were leg holes, like how the sand shark has lots of legs, not to mention the likely burrowing ability they both share.

When I saw the SandShark I though it was an Isopod. When I saw the Stalker for my first time I avoided it a lot because it was always chasing me out of its home but got the hang of it. When I first saw or see any of those Warpers for the first time I would quickly run away from it ASAP.

Some pepole say that the emporor was originaly meant to be hostile but i think she still is. in the alien tank all creatures are passive. but if emporor is outside it not hostile probably because the devs didnt want to imploment that. :(

Sea Emperors feed on the same thing Reefbacks and Dead Zone Ghost Leviathans do (Not you the other thing) That being a cut creature that while gameplay wise you don’t encounter it (Unless you spawn it in), But lore wise ABSOLUTELY exists, and that creature bring Bloom Plankton.

The Last Bacon to be fair it was pretty much in between the floating islands and the grassy plateaus, so I guess it was more “right in the middle” but even then it was very close to entering the plateaus.

Bone sharks annoy me because they can literally see me kill their annoying friend and they still think it's smart to try to swim at me. Sand sharks I think are just adorable derps. They suck at hiding and when they charge at me they just look so goofy and give up quickly. I've never had to attack the sand shark. Also: Did I hear you say you can feed the reaper leviathans fish and they leave you alone? I rewound it and it sounds like that's what you said, but I am not sure I believe you lol. I want to try it now. I know it works on Stalkers.

On 4546B Shark is likely a classification similar to Leviathan, except for medium sized predators, the creatures that we know belong to this class are the ones with shark in their name: Sandshark, Boneshark, Bruteshark, Squidshark (which is a Shark, Not a Leviathan, but unlike other Sharks it is a large predator not a medium predator) and Stalkers (and by extension, Snow Stalkers). While these next two aren’t Sharks, they fill the same role as Sharks, Being that they are the medium sized predator of their biome: River Prowler and Lava Lizard.
@TheLastBacon
@TheLastBacon 4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps :) would explain why so many different things have the "shark" thing in their name!

Fun fact, given the sand shark's sideways eyes, we should consider that the biggest concern of their species is being attacked, at least, compared to securing prey.
