Literally the only thing missing from this are certain voice effects such as echos and a bit of static, and with those, it will be perfect.

So, fun fact about this mod: they looked at the PDA to see how much of the skeleton remained in the Lost River, and added that with their measurements to make that Leviathan full scale

My mind started melting once I realized how big it was. The only things it needs is some effects on the voice acting to make it sound like it's coming from a radio, some movement tweaks to make it move a little slower to help emphasize how big it is. And some environmental effect cause that big of a beast coming out of the water would do soo much more. Tho realistically if it did pop out like that, it would more than likely cause a Tsunami. But other than those things, this is both amazing looking and absolutely terrifying. Props to the mod team.

The fact you can hear what Avery Quinn is hearing (creaking and sounds of being dragged down into the ocean at extremely high speeds) made me legit sick with fear

God imagine if THAT was your real introduction to the thing, like you genuinely didn't know it existed when seeing it. That would be fucking TERRIFYING.

I like it. I think it reminds you that where you are is basically on top of a mountain on this planet and the deep parts of the ocean are much MUCH deeper than anything you come close to in game.

The scary thing is, is that we don’t actually know how deep the Eco-Dead zone is, so it’s possible that something like this exists in outside of the crater that the game takes place in.

Have you guys ever heard about Norse Mythology's World Serpent, Jormangndr. A beast so large that it has circle around the entire world in order to bite the tip of it's tail. The Gargantuan Leviathan reminds me of that, and there should really only be one adult Gargantuan at a time because it is too dawm big to be able to live on that planet.

I wish there was an insane roar that shook the screen as it rose. Maybe a slower ascension toward the ship too. Dope ass idea tho

I think it would add to the spectacle if the lunge out of the water was fast as shown, but way slower coming back down to show it’s 1. Far away, 2. Appears to fall in slow-mo like massive things do, and 3. Show that it’s really fast when it wants to be

How did the ship even last that long for him to say those final words? With the size of that “thing” and the speed it was going at, he must’ve already been miles underwater. There’s no way it couldn’t have been crushed by the underwater pressure for that long. I think it would’ve been much better if either A. The ship gets complete crushed in the jaws of the beast or B. It doesn’t get crushed but just gets taken down into the deep and without any final words or explosions just to leave us in awe of the beast and our own imagination to think about what happened to the people that didn’t escape. Great job either way though. This was fucking fantastic. Remember, the best type of horror comes from the unknown so the human imagination can fill in the blanks with stuff even more terrifying.

The thing about creatures this huge is that I find them less terrifying than the reaper, for the sole reason that a human would be too small to even try to eat. In fact, the gargantuan would probably use more energy trying to eat someone, than actually getting from eating said someone

I always liked the idea of an alternate ending to this where you can set up a warning for the Sunbeam that they get moments before the shot; allowing them to fire their thrusters and escape atmo and most of the weapon's damage, but still losing all their long range comms equipment. The net result being you will have corroborators of your innocence of the destruction of the Auroura at the game's ending if you get off the planet, but otherwise the Sunbeam's survival changes nothing in terms of your situation.

Audio is too clean on the voices. Need some background elements and maybe some audio effects to make it seem like more than just two people having a phone call.

The guys literally being dragged to unfathomable depths in the mouth of a creature, but his mic works perfectly fine, & it sounds more like hes been injured rather than completely losing his shit, seeing how a space ship cant handle any depth

Imagine if these scene were to happen during the night. That would be more more haunting then to see it happen during the day. Plus with more added sound effect like waves crashing as the levianthan splashes back down into the water and static coming through the communicator as the ship explodes and gets dragged down into The Deadline would be perfect.

The thing i love about this clip is that there IS no water splash you see, no rumbling. It seems low quality because of that but it adds a sense of terror. Something so large, so far away, that to YOU there was no water splash or anything. But truly it was simply because of the distance, and yet the thing still seems so large..

Terrifying oh my God this made me feel this visceral fear I've never felt before playing video games. Absolutely class top tier

i thought it was gonna be the usual it gets saved, but this wouldve been way better, the gun shooting it down is a pivotal moment in its development, but knowing that ghost leviathans arent the only thing in the ecological dead zone, and they are practically tiny foods for these things

If you pay close attention, the captain doesn't sound hurt until after the leviathan grabs the ship, meaning that its teeth probably easily pierced the hull and the captain was just sitting in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think the gargantuan is too big, when it comes out of the water and flips it's tail into the air the tail reaches higher than the ship was in the sky before it even breached the atmosphere according to the crew.

Ah yes a Rescue Space ship that is like a couple meters near the island gets shot and eaten by a huge sea creature from a couple miles away from the island without Gravity making it fall down halfway through the jump

My only problem with this is that the entire sunbeam literally just got forcefully grabbed and shoved deep into the water and the captain just calmly goes "Boys. I'm not going to make it." Like. It's just. Why was he so calm? You would expect to hear like. At least everything in the ship, including the captain, being rapidly thrown around due to the ship rotating and stuff but like. Nah I guess he's just chillin.

I think the direction of fall and physics of the creature could use some work, but damn, they need to add satellite view for the next release, this is awesome

For those who are saying that the garg was scaled up so it could eat the sun beam it wasn't. The sunbeam only appears larger so the player could see it, otherwise how could it have landed on such a small island? In reality, it's only a 6 seater ship that's only a little bigger than a cyclops

A big problem in subnautica generally and especially here in this animation is a lack of scale cues. The gargantuan is literally miles long. Something that massive moving at these speeds is not possible. And we know that intuitively. So our brains automatically re-scale what we are seeing for the speed and inertia we are seeing. As a result the leviathan's movement and inertia cues tell me it's head is about ten feet tall, top to bottom. If you want to invest mass, weight and scale into your creatures you gotta sell it with how it moves. Check out pacific rim 1 for good examples and pacific rim 2 for bad examples.

They made the gargantuan leviathan too big in this animation he would of been like a 10th of this since the sunbeam is the size of the aurora in this shot and the gargantuan leviathan isn't that big when you download the mod.

Static other effects to the voices would put the icing on top for this mod imo. Additionally, adding more effects such as screen rumbling and a giant water splash would CERTAINLY put the icing on top for this scene. It would certainly create the perfect feeling of how small the player is.
