@@Substance3D Do we need to use UDIMS? You can paint through different texture maps no UDIM in Quixer Mixer Is it that possible in Substance?

6:03 This hiding part of the mesh option should be also possible without UDIMs. Its extremly needed in gamedev where udims are not a thing.

Awesome update! Will functionality to also paint across texture (if you have loaded multiple meshes into the scene but they are not using UDIMs) be added in the future :) Thanks for doing awesome work!

How can I do this importing a Genensis figure from DAZ? I select UDIM as new project setting but in Texture List I have multiples "main shader" and each one has the own UV Tiles

Enabling Preserve UV tile layout when creating a new project is straight forward enough, but I'm seeing unexpected behavior on my end. All the tiles do show up and are mapped correctly to the mesh, alas each tile ends up in a separate Texture Set. I'm stuck with no ideas, seems too simple a thing. Thanks if you can advise a way forward.

@@seisekai1 In the meanwhile I've learned that you have to run your model and textures through ZB or such to combine all UDIMs into a single, word escapes me, "set" for lack of the right term.

I load a mesh with UDIM UVs and I never have all UV Tiles under the same group as your Body group. Would have been nice to show how you loaded the mesh. I do everything the way it sounds logical. But I just can't get it to work ?

Really nice feature. Long awaited, but well done. Did it work with different resolution on the different UDIM ? It looks like it does as there is a 4k 2k tag at the bottom corner of the 2D view. looks awesome to use. Great job team.

I'm having some issues right now. So I have a garment made in Marvelous Designer with UDIMs set up and imported into Substance. The issue I have is under my Texture Set List. I can see all my UV tiles, but the UV tiles are ALSO parented under various different groups (which seem to have been generated by the different fabric/colors I had set up in Marvelous Designer). While this is great for putting various materials on different sections of my garment, I'd also like to be able to add materials to the entire garment as whole (say, grunge scratches or dust, etc). I can't seem to find a way to bypass the various groups in the Texture Set List that were automatically set up. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Amazing. Have you done any improvements to SSS in the last year? Havent kept up to date. Mari was better with UDIM and SSS for me.

Can we get a regular color picker? like to sample JUST colors and not the entire material? Its been years and this feature is a must for hand paint stuff. This will allow artist to hand paint stuff on mask and to pick and paint colors. Just a regular color picker. with a shortcut. not the drag color picker to color. you know. Like any other software.

@@Substance3D pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee its one of the biggest reasons I use other applications for 3d painting .... because of this dang useless color picker which is so slow to work with in its current workflow, please! :D you guys are missing out on a big market by not improving it!

Of course this is huge news, but as a game modeller, I am still waiting for painting across texture sets. :D I dont use UV tiles, and I really hope I will see painting across texture sets.

can't you just paint as UDIMs and then assign them as different texture sets once you export them? i mean it's a hack, but better than waiting lol

So if I have an aircraft with many maps for the fuselage I can paint across it using this feature to get perfect cheat lines right ? Without painting on each map and trying to line up the lines correctly...God I hope this is the case, can we do curved lines yet???

Hey, what if I JUST want to paint across one object in my UDIM? So far I'm trying to do the 'paint strokes ignore masked UDIMS' but it still paints across hidden udims. Thanks!

You will always be able to paint across tiles. The hidden functionality just hides the geo. You can apply layer masks to stop the strokes from affecting sections of the mesh.

How do you export this into one single id texture without being divided by Uv space? I have a model divided into different UV spaces, the same as the video, but when I try to export it, it gets divided by material and the uv tile, making it impossible to create a material to asign it to the mesh in unreal 5....

Is there a way to see the maps beside the name of the layer like in the old versions? it just made it easier to figure out which layer was by colour (i.e. albedo maps/ roughness)

We don't have a way for now. The team is looking into this. Part of the issue was with performance and the other was that it wasn't clear for a paint layer vs fill layer and displaying the painter layer thumbs with UV tiles

Now, can I draw on one tile and have my paint stroke cloned on an adjacent tile? in other words can I have my drawing action projected on multiple tiles simultanously? (one brush stroke would then produce an identical effect on all "unmasked" tiles)

Yes this should work. Even if you are masked the stroke is still computed.

great, but still the baking system of SP is non flexible and gets a lot of artifacts...please upgrade to something like Marmoset with baking envelop preview

@@AmitKolay A 1080Ti will be fine yes. The CPU is not critical, but the more RAM the better. Also having a SSD drive will make a huge difference.

huge thanks for that guy's now, i can use resolution bellow 1k or 2k and have a better use of the resolution per texel zone, instead of crushing the ram usage hahaha ^^ i need to know how Unity and Blender manage this kind of UV workflow, before.
