One thing to keep in mind is that the L7's are dual voice coil, so if you want to connect them to terminals, you will be changing the ohm load you can deliver. Granted, you would end up doing that anyway, whether it was from the terminals or not. As long as the new ohm load works with your amp, then there's no harm in doing that.

Sorry, never heard of "N2". If they set up their terminals like we do on our amps, the 2 pairs of terminals are mainly there for convenience, so you dont have to jam too much wire into your sub's terminals. Just to be safe, please check with Massive and verify that is the case. They may have that info on their manual as well.

Best way to find the details of your Pioneer amp is to check their website, usually in the tech support area. Find the instructions, and the ohm load tolerances should be printed there. The model number should be on the amp somewhere.

Hey Kevin - the S18X can handle the 1500 -2000 watts without a problem. Make sure the other settings on the amp like the gain and bass boost are set at the right levels to be compatible with your headunit. We made that speaker in both a dual 2 ohm and a dual 4 ohm version so it could be either. If there is not a sticker or anything on it to tell you what the ohm is you will need to test each coil on an ohm meter to see what it reads. If it's a dual 2 then each voice coil should read a little less than 2 and the dual 4 ohm will read a little less than 4.

Two 4 ohm dvc subs can be wired to 1ohm. Go to www.kicker.com/kickeru for a diagram.

What is the brand/model of the amp? That will help us determine the best way to wire it.

Either amplifier will work. I think you will like the sound performance better if you went with the ZX25001 because of the increase in wattage.

TheTripleHouse The ZX25001 is stable down to 2 ohms. If you try to run it below that it will shut down and damage the amp. With the subs you have, you will want to wire them in a series/parallel configuration and that will allow the amp to see 2 ohms. If you go to kicker.com and under the support tab there is a wiring configuration that will show how to do series/parallel.

You would need an amp that is .5 ohm stable. Most amps that were 1 ohm stable would play at .5 ohms but you would not be able to turn up the volume and over time it would work the components harder and cause them to fail quicker.

Couple of things - you don't want to mix the same size subs that are different models. The sound difference when they play would muddy the sound and it won't be good. You could cross them over at different points but it's still not something we would recommend. Next the dvc 2 ohm speaker would see a different amount of power then the dvc 4 ohm subs due to the resistance of the voice coils. The M-1500 is rated at 500 watts RMS at 2 ohms or 300 watts at 4 ohms. Unfortunately this will not work with the pair of L5's because you would only be able to wire them into a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load to the amp. You could run either a single S12L54 wired in parallel to the amp and it would see 500 watts or you could run the CVR122 in series to the amp and it will see 300 watts. Hope this helps.

2 ohms stereo and 4 ohms bridged usually gives you the exact same amount of power, so you're fine either way. You can follow the directions in this video to give you 4 ohms bridged. Running one side of a sub, while possible with many (but not all) DVC subs, cuts the power handling in half. So the question to ask yourself is this: is the advantage of getting a lower ohm load worth changing the power handling of the sub, and your setup? Usually, no. Bear in mind that doubling the power results, on average, of increasing the output by about 3dB. Most people say that the actual perception of double the volume to the human brain is 10-12dB. At the end of the day, double the power never equals double the volume. Plus, higher ohm loads tend to be more accurate, acoustically speaking. Hope this helps Samuel!

With some amps, the lower the ohm load, the higher the power rating. We recommend you match the RMS of the amp (at that ohm load) to the RMS of the sub(s). Please check how low the load can be for your amp. It varies by manufacturer.

i ended up wiring the - to - and then the + to + on each speaker individually, then choosing one - and + from each speaker and putting it to its own output from the amp instead of wiring the speakers together.

No i did not check with a meter. I have a test in my shop though. Just dunno how to check for ohms with it. Im a noob.

With a pair of S12L54's you can wire them to either a 4 ohm or 1 ohm configuration. The ZX7501 is is designed to work best at 2 ohms. Ideal situation would be if you could exchange your dual 4's for dual 2's. If this is not possible, one option would be to wire them in a series/parallel configuration and run them to the amp. This would only show the amp a 4 ohm load which would decrease the power from 750+ watts to 375-400 watts. Another option would be to run only a single S12L54 wired in parallel to the amp. This would push 750+ watts to the single sub and you would have to keep all the gains and bass boost down and watch out for overpowering but it's an option. We would not recommend wiring down to 1 ohm as the amp is not stable. It will run at times but not consistently and all the shutting down will eventually cause issues with the amp.

You will want to look for an amp that pushes 1500 watts RMS at 1 ohms mono. Hope this helps.

Different ohm loads exist to get the most out of the amp you're using, and/or to let you use the number of subs you need to create your system. All of the subs of a given series and size have the same specs, whether they are 1, 2 or 4 ohms. Make sense?

The ZX1500.1 is rated for 2 ohms mono, so if you have two 4 ohm speakers, 2 ohms will deliver the most power. You'd wire in parallel for that.

The CXA1800.1 would be a good fit. Wire it to 1 ohm final load.

It will depend on the model amp you have and how it's designed. You can run a speaker to each stereo channel. With a 4 ohm dvc sub, you would probably wire the sub in parallel and then run it to one stereo channel. This channel will see 2 ohms. You will want to make sure the amp will run at 2 ohm stereo and that the power output at 2 ohms stereo matches well with the RMS power handling of the sub.

Unfortunately, you can't make a 2-ohm load with a pair of dvc 4-ohm subs. Your choices are 1 ohm or 4 ohms.

Kurloz Soriano did u buy both subs at same time or is 1 newer than the other. It could b as simple as 1 is more broke in than the other. And truly u only need about 600 watts per sub. If u can get you a kx model 1200.1or the 600.1 but make sure kx. Swear kx 600 sounds like memphis 2000 and hits da notes better thann n e other amp out there. Speakin from experience

Brandon Burks That small of a hole to run your wires thru will not cause a sound difference. We normally recommend each sub having it's own air space. We feel like each speaker can perform better and if something happens and one blows, the other is not working in twice it's recommend air space and can blow easily.

+KICKER Is it possible/recommended to connect each woofer to the terminals and run the jumpers between the terminals? Rather than drill holes and run the jumpers from speaker to speaker.

You can’t, they would have to be wired to separate amplifiers to achieve a 2 ohm load they would need to be wired exactly the same as the first part of the video and then not linked together and ran to there own separate amps....unless you buy a 2500 watt boss amp then it’s game on lol

Unfortunately not by itself, no. You would need a second 4 ohm SVC to parallel it with.

We generally use either 12 or 16 gauge speaker wire.

They reco.end that for casual liatening. If u r goin to be pushin em hard juat use 8guage . it keeps the heat down and u dont hav to qry about what brand wire you r using trust. Ive been threw about 16 dif L7s since 1gens. U want best currsnt possible. Always remeber they want u to buy more. Thats y they quit the solo x's cuz u could fix you're self

We dont normally encourage you to do that. The differences in power and cones (2 vs 1) could result in some muddy bass. We would recommend you choose one set or the other.

Does your amp handles a 1ohm load? if so you should be fine.

I found the specs on the bex-2150-1d, and it said it was 1 ohm stable. If that's the same amp, then you're good. I'd go to the hifonics website to confirm if I were in your shoes, or contact them directly.

Unfortunately the math doesn't work out on that. You can do 1 or 4 ohms with those subs. Since you have a mono amp, they probably designed the 2 sets of inputs as a matter of convenience during setup. The trade off is not just power, but accuracy. Higher ohm loads will tend to offer more detailed audio. What most people don't know is that doubling the power is only about a 3dB gain in volume. Most people perceive doubling the volume as 12dB, though that is subjective. The point is that as you gain a bit of volume, you lose some accuracy.

KICKER so if you keep it at a higher ohm it will hit the notes better but if you lower the ohm it looses the note

Close. You'll still hear the note, but it wont be quite as clean and clear as with a higher ohm load.

We always recommend giving the amplifier as much amperage as is recommended. This is usually done by knowing the output of the battery & alternator, as well as ensuring you have a proper gauge power and ground wire.

Adam Corte Not a problem! You are going to do a wiring configuration that includes both series and parallel. For each set of 4 woofers, wire each dual 4 in series. This will create 4 x 8 ohm woofers. Hey Junior, we need to know what the Nemesis should be wired to? Its not a Kicker amp, so I don't know the specs. If the L7's are the same ones we talked about before (dual 2 ohm), then you have 3 choices: 8 ohms, 2 ohms or 1/4 ohm.

We still need to know what the ohm load of the speakers are, so you can wire them correctly. You can also lower the gain of the amplifier to reduce the power. Another option is to go a car stereo shop and ask for their help.
