Never have I heard something so profound that completely and utterly describes me and who I am to my core and also shows me why it’s been so hard for me to fit in.. We don’t take the easy way.. We Question Everything, and Integrity and Self Respect, Self Love is more important to us than any material thing or any opinion or anyone. Yes it’s a lonely road but that’s because we are not mindless sheep’s of a heard, we are critical thinking individuals prioritizing integrity, honor, self respect and virtue. The sheep don’t have our competence or brilliance to be able to do this and stand on their own as we do… We are the Chosen Ones.

Had a realization while reading/listening to this that I remembered from the Past. “Happiness is not in getting its in being” meaning it’s not in getting what you want that’s fleeting, it’s in being who you truly are in integrity and honor.

This really hit me like a freight train today. Thank you for this. As a Karaite Messianic Jew, just turning 53 years old, just becoming an "empty nester", I've wondered if ANYONE thought the way I thought. This really has given me something to learn from and share with others. I agree with about 95% of these teachings honestly. I've tried relationships over the past 40 years, including 2 marriages, and always felt like I could never find anyone that understood me. This all makes so much more sense now. Thank you again. Blessings.

I appreciate the teachings of this warrior. As it was stated, during turbulent times, it's all about survival & the strongest survive. If not, you'll become a victim. It would be nice to live in an utopian society, however, that's not my experience nor is it the experience of most men who are burdened with the responsibility of being the protectors of his family & his Community. I think it's awesome how this Samurai was able to reflect on his past, which he may have done things he wasn't "proud" of & offer wisdom through his teachings to guide warriors of the future to understand that with manhood comes responsibility. The responsibility to be strong, intelligent, resilient, confident & assertive without being arrogant, abusive, uncontrollable & unwilling to accept valid information. We've all made mistakes in life, as did he, but to learn/grow from them will allow one to create a path of redemption & progression.

No actúes siguiendo creencias habituales.

Accept everything just the way it is. Do not seek pleasure for its own sake. Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling. Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world. Be detached from desire your whole life long. Do not regret what you have done. Never be jealous. Never let yourself be saddened by a separation. Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love. In all things have no preferences. Be indifferent to where you live. Do not pursue the taste of good food. Do not hold on to possessions you no longer need. Do not act following customary beliefs. Do not collect weapons or practice with weapons beyond what is useful. Do not fear death. Do not seek to possess either goods or fiefs for your old age. Respect Buddha and the gods without counting on their help. You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honor. Never stray from the Way.

Musashi wasnt a saintly honourable jesus character. He was a demon forged in the solitary forests and caves that he dwelt in. His works show how to become a demon and use isolayion to achieve mastery. Most of this is the self help crap that the guy talks about in the firat 2 minutes.
