Coming in late to this, fellow farmer/electronics tinkerer too, them esp32's seem to multiply! Re energy monitoring, look into openenergymonitor stuff with their emontx for energy measurments. They also have heatmeters for heatpumps which would be able to adapted for measuring energy taken out of the plate heat exchanger. Ill never get around to selling any of my little projects as supporting them is more cost and time than building them.

How come id not come across you before? Some very good ideas here, in particular the auto calf feeder/weigher. I could see one of them being genuinely useful for keeping tabs on our late summer/early autumn born calves (and their mothers) when they start having creep feed. Sounds like i best get designing!

Would be hugely interested in the gps, tanker timer and farm software. Face lit up when you said the bull selection will be the trial run, looks a very useful piece. Don’t worry about the video length once all the contents worthwhile

another decent bit of viewing . To the person that complained about you with wearing the Dale Farm logo “ catch yourself on ya t**t “ !!

Love your videos so much information. The bull proof app sounds brilliant can’t wait to download it! Only used proven bulls this year in anticipation for this app.

You are so talented! I wouldn't know where to start. I can't even remember the colour code chart other than solid colours first. I worked in an electronics assembly factory when in my early twenties for five years but they were only interested in getting the work done not teaching what each part did etc. Very verified but no beginning to end production or case making.

Circuit boards are really interesting would love to learn the workings of them plus the works of brains in tractors

Knowing diesel use per vehicle/operation is huge if your contracting or trying to zero in on cost of production… I’d love data like that to help our farm advisers understand why I’m adamant about upgrading to newer tractors and that yes, for us, it’s cheaper to put up our own feed instead of buying it in. Knowing tank level is also helpful to time buying fuel at best rate. I’d love to know more about do your feed bin load cells and set up… going to be putting in a 4T here soon…

Interesting, I really need to start finalising some of these products.

Very basic tech i use a lot is a GSM relay to turn on/off the fence. Only problem is remembering to top up the sim before it dies. I got a 10 year IOT sim to try get around that. Also got a lorawan IO controller to do the same thing. There are analog and digital inputs on the controller. It would be nice to read the power from the fence using those inputs but i don't know how. A lot of hours gone into the software you have 👍🏻

Hook a cable up to your fencer battery and put a 3:1 voltage divider on the positive line which feeds into the analog input. It's just two resistors, Google will help you. Then you can read your battery voltage.

Very smart ideas, subscribed ! Do your shed lights work on a dusk dawn sensor, or linked to sunrise/sunset times? Cheers

Just times. Adding a Light sensor on the new version I'm building.

A concrete weight cell like a small weight bridge for fork lifts underneath the crush they won’t destroy it then
@FarmTheoryNI7 ай бұрын
The load cells where up high, the issue was the steel I used wasn't strong enough.

Why do measure water intake to the cows but have no diet feeder to know how much silage each cow is eating? Also you wouldn't be pushing away silage each morning to beef stock if you had a feeder
@ciaranconeely85797 ай бұрын
Great video. Andrew Wright for Green Paty President. Focus on one project in your spare time and complete stuff project by project. Don't start on a new one until the previous one is finished. That is the only way to get things done otherwise you could just be jumping between uncompleted projects and getting nothing finished.
