Merge to HDR in Lightroom is a great feature for exposure blending. But my preferred method is with Aurora HDR: bit.ly/2TfoisF... as the hard work of bringing back the shadow and highlight detail is handled automatically and therefore a big time saver.
Lightroom's merge to HDR is a brillaint way to create a single file that contains all of the dynamic range of the original scene. It's just now down to you as the editor to bring back that detail where you want it.
By using the masking feature we can bring back the richness of the image in a controlled way and finesse our real estate photo or high end architecture shot.
Previously I've covered the organizing of photos after the shoot here: • Architectural Photogra...

Thank you for this video! Much better than some other software, in this "painting mode" with masks we may achieve almost everything!

This channel is great, thanks for sharing. What image quality do you recommend shooting in, RAW?
@AnthonyTurnham
@AnthonyTurnham 17 күн бұрын
Thanks! I'd recommend the highest quality where possible, ie highest bit depth and without compression. If your compression is lossless though then I'd go for that.

Helpful video, but my eyes kept going to the overexposed sections in the window. Couldn't something be done to normalize that area?

There's few options to win the reflection war. PS and LR both have options... I'll see if I can put something together on it in the future.

my only concern is that it takes a bit of a time ... not for 1 photo but lets say you go out ans shoot 2-3 houses and you endup wit 100pictures to edit ... is there any way how to speed up the proces mby through presets ?

I edit my photos this way and for some reason I thought it was wrong and I wasn’t going to get high end clients
@AnthonyTurnham
@AnthonyTurnham Жыл бұрын
Hi Rodolfo. There's many approaches to editing. But it's the result the client cares about, not the method you used to get there. If your work is good, no reason you can't attract the big clients.

This is the key to HDR merge, to let you do much more with masks without destroying the image. Do you really need to use Lumenzia now you have AI object selection in LR too?
@archiphoto
@archiphoto 4 ай бұрын
Persoally I've found the transition and control of masks via Lumenzia in PS is still superior to Lightroom's masking. However LR has made huge strides in that domain in the last couple of releases.

Excellent post! Question: the HDR file is 32 bit due to the fact that is indeed a HDR file? Meaning, once LR converted the final file to HDR automatically that file becomes 32 bit? or "you" converted to 32? thanks!

ive found that lightrooms merge is gargabe. fucks up the colors adds purple and blue to the shadows and overall adds noise i cant atand it
@archiphoto
@archiphoto 5 ай бұрын
Really? I haven't found that in my experience. I find that the noise is greatly reduced because it's pulling info for the shadows from cleaner files exposed specifically for those areas. Odd that it's doing that.
