Bought the Luminar Neo, but feeling a bit frustrated that I have been trying for hours to Export and Export (...) with the sync adjusted files, and when I do the export there is no visible merge. Any idea on this. I really appreciate it.

What else? I have just purchased Luminar Neo and hoping that this will provide me with a better result as I've been shooting flambient plus an exterior exposure, but it's very time consuming in post. Cheers Anthony

@@AnthonyTurnham The window columns on the left side all have the same distance with respect to each other. You moved it to the left. And you made the window opening on the far right disappear. 'You never know the difference' The architect will mate. Won't recommend this. And I did not mention the two chairs inside the building on the far left you united with each other. Just go a bit wider and don't do that fill in stuff. Or don't point the camera that far up. It's easier to fill in some sky.

Excellent information Anthony. How many stops of dynamic range do you think a hybrid mirrorless camera should have to be suitable for real estate photography & video, & would you say it's the same or more for architectural work? Is this a real concern or not?

Thanks! I'd recommend the highest quality where possible, ie highest bit depth and without compression. If your compression is lossless though then I'd go for that.

Actually it‘s SDR or mapping the dynamic range of HDR into SDR. Nothig wrong with that, the only problem is that meanwhile there are real HDR image formats and it‘s very difficult to find videos about that due to the misleading use of the term HDR in photography.

0:51 THERE! Right there! You said you're starting with a present and that just destroyed a major part of the tutorial since we don't know what that is! Even if you provide it for free, we have to install it and find ways to adjust it to fit the shots. I don't deny you did a wonderful job of editing but LR and PS have always failed me due to the endless revisions Adobe keeps grinding out. These programs nearly destroyed my love of photography.

2:49 shows the exact settings I used and I recommend you pause and copy those settings. These are the 'preset' settings. I've also covered this in many other vids. This video isn't about those settings but how to use luminosity masks.

Imagine how much you would have to charge a client to do this when the vast majority of people can barely tell the difference between a photo taken on a phone camera with HDR and a professional camera with hours of editing. It requires amazing skills. But, nope, it's way too much work. Clients in my area would never pay me for this type of effort.
@AnthonyTurnham
@AnthonyTurnham Ай бұрын
The one bit of advice I learnt after years of projecting my beliefs about what a client would or wouldn't spend was to not assume the budget of my client. This applied to weddings when initially I charged just under $1000 because I thought that was all I would pay so therefore it was all my clients would pay. I was so wrong. With every price jump I fearfully made, turned out I got better clients who were willing to pay that price. I finished in 2018 averaging $8k (nzd) per shoot. My first architecture shoot, $50 (yup, seriously). More recent ones 2-5k per job. Perhaps some people can't tell the difference between an iPhone hdr and a high-end retouch. But perhaps, they shouldn't be your client. I found when I put the quality finish into my work it organically attracted better clients who were willing to pay for better work.

THANKS for this video! Very well done as always. However, in making small adjustments to the verticals using auto synch, the adjust DO apply to each image BUT are NOT carried over to to the merged HDR. Tried multiple times, but the HDR does not see what I did to the verticals. Also, the merged image doesn't look that different in the windows (still blown out). What did I miss? One of your videos did cover how the image may look the same, but I cannot find it (you have a LOT of videos! And that's a GOOD THING!)

Is there a repeatable way to get the exposure of the highlight or shadow layers to match the base layer (like when you are adjusting things around 17:00? I have trouble knowing if I've matched the midtone exposure properly just eyeballing it or trying to remember what the base layer looks like. Do I need to just pick a couple points and look at the values in the histogram between the base layer and the one that I'm adjusting to try to get those midtones matching?

Hi Anthony! Awesome video, all your videos are so well put together. You always explain things in ways that are really easy to understand and implement. I got a quick question for you, hopefully you can help me. Been a little hard to research on line. I'm getting a new pc laptop and I am finally going to get a stand alone monitor to hook up to the laptop as well. Tired of always using the laptop monitor. I use Lightroom, Photoshop and Luminar Neo for editing. I am a Real Estate Agent and do my own photos when I have homes for sale. I do not do photography for a living but love it. Question is: I want to get a 21:9 ratio (Ultrawide) monitor NOT 16:9. Minimum 2K resolution or more. Should I only get a flat ultrawide monitor or curved ultrawide. Trying to figure which is the best for photo editing. Will a curved monitor affect my editing of interior photos and exterior photos. I would prefer a curved monitor but won't get one if it is not good for photo editing. What do you think? Please let me know. Thanks for your time and help!

I believe I heard you talk about clients either licensing the photos or them buying the photos. Does this mean that by licensing, you get to use the photos still as you wish, but if they buy them they are no longer yours? If so, I’d imagine the buying is more hefty price than licensing, correct?
@AnthonyTurnham
@AnthonyTurnham 2 ай бұрын
I don't offer a "buy" option where I would then be unable to use the photos. The closest would be an exclusive license. In that case, a client would pay more to have exclusive rights to the images but I would still want to maintain the ability to use those photos for my own portfolio or marketing if I wished. I had a lucrative job offer once for a bespoke home that belonged to a famous artist but because they wanted exclusive rights and I would not be able to use those photos in any marketing myself I declined the job.

Would be so helpful if you showed a full workflow for this from how you import to lightroom and editing at least 2 groups of photos to export. I see everyone showing how to do one set of images at a time but is there not a bulk solution for many of these steps? Thanks for all you do youre one of the best sources out there I’m also trying to use both lrc and neo thanks to you and seeing the full picture would help tremendously
