Successteam Leadership Academy is a youth mentoring program that features a multi-day, overnight male youth development conference. The program empowers and equips youth between the ages of 14-18 in grades 9-12. SLAM focuses on male maturation, education, and leadership through in-depth mentoring by providing insight, guidance, and knowledge to stimulate desired growth. Students are immersed in positive motivation with speakers and activities. Each session is designed to teach practical life skills and equip our youth with educational tools while inspiring them of their worth and potential. Leadership Academy goes a step further using a check-in with parents four weeks later as well as monthly gatherings with the students from then on. In order to sustain maturation, our Mentors invest repeatedly in the lives of our students over time, helping them understand the responsibilities of becoming men.
Since 2015, Successteam, centered in Aiken, has invested in youth development by becoming a nontraditional partner to educational institutions. Students engaged in our programs learn to value education and personal development. We target at-risk youth in the CSRA and southeast but are open to students of all backgrounds and focus on creating dynamic relationships. Volunteer staff work for the joy of impacting the students’ lives, building relationships and seeing students’ maturation over time.
