I read your comment and then read your name and loved it because of Anne of Green Gables; then it donned on me that we actually went to classes together (i think) out at Ivy Tech so many years ago. My mind doesn't always serve me correctly so forgive me if I'm wrong about the time and place but I do actually believe it was school where I remember your name first and last. This is so cool! And that stone base? 🔥🔥🔥 I’ve been doing a lot of caulking lately, installing crown moulding in my house and filling all the gaps and seams with caulking. (It’s a wonderful invention!) But the silicone that won’t stop oozing out is #relatablecontent. You might already know this, but if you release the little switch at the bottom of the caulking gun, it takes the pressure off and saves you the moment of holding your finger over the hole and saying to your partner, “it won’t stop, what do I dooo?!?” But I only know that cuz I’ve been there. Thanks for your videos. You guys are the best.

Beautiful arrangement as always, Laura. I agree with other community members: it was great to see you persevere through this. Now you have such a unique piece that will look perfect with your other home decor. Regarding not being able to control the silicone squeezing out of the gun, you have to release the back of the caulking gun to take the pressure off the tube. There’s a flat metal piece below the thin metal bar. I take the meaty part of the palm of my hand and bang it against that flat piece of metal (in the direction towards the tube opening) to release it. As I write this I’m realizing how difficult it is to explain, so hopefully this makes sense.

Amazing, Laura. So beautiful! Lab forceps (long tweezers) would help you greatly with projects like this. For watering try using a pipette. This is the kind of project a lot of us talk ourselves out of doing. But, you persevered and were rewarded for your efforts... and your patience! As far as watering goes, you might be able to draw up some water in a straw, hold your finger over one end, and then carefully direct the other end to dribble water right where you want it. You'll probably need one of those extra long straws, but it might be easier than a turkey baster. A turkey baster might be narrow enough to go into the bulb, but not enough afford the movement you'll need to navigate once inside the bulb. ~ Lisa ::edited for clarity::

Laura, I use an Economy Wash Bottle to water most of my succulents and also it is great for reaching potted plants that are tucked into places or behind other plants so you don't have to move anything to get to them or damage leaves trying to get a watering can to them. Seriously love this thing and it is easy, no constant refilling a syringe just squeeze and aim for the base of the plant you want to water. I use it for my seedling trays too.

That is so cool! You have incredible patience to nurture that many succulents and then to attend to the detail of miniature arrangements. Even for those who are not into succulents, you just inspired a lot of people to get creative with lightbulbs - even to make arrangements with dried flowers and moss or make Christmas decorations. Thank you for this inspiration.

That was a lot of effort to make just more clutter for a side table. But always appreciate how Laura documents mini disasters as they happen. But if you really want to make a succulent arrangement surely you have many more much easier to use containers around the house...see no point in losing a finger for this.

Not only did you see the potential in this very unique and cool lightbulb as a vessel, but it’s history at the garden center makes it all the more fun!

This project is amazing! After watching this video, I went back and watched your previous terrarium project videos using hydrastones. I had put together a number of terrariums a few years ago, but over time the plants all died. I was really frustrated and stopped doing terrariums all together! Now, I’m excited to try using the hydrastones! Making terrariums is a great winter project to keep the blues away. This is my first public comment, but I have been watching you for years, and so many of your projects have inspired me and helped me to become a better gardener! Thank you, Laura. 🌸

Find a piece of tubing the length you need & attach it to the end of the syringe & voila’! Easy peesy watering directly into the bulb - it’s too pretty to risk hard metal for watering. Very inspired piece - love it!

I would like to see you create some dried flower arrangements. There are many kinds you could do. Maybe a winter theme with some faux snow, for example. Thank you. I watch your channel every day. It makes me happy!
