I’ve never listened to this song of his before but I always got a “it’s half the story” vibe from his lyrics in only the brave where he says “it’s a tall tale, and it’s only hello hello, no goodbye” because I take the “hello hello, goodbye” as a reference to the Beatles song “hello, goodbye” where the lyrics are just about opposites (so he’s saying, you only see the ‘hello’ not the ‘goodbye’ opposite) and tall tale obviously being about lies. So many similar themes always appearing in his lyrics.
