Louis 38 dalt írt One Directionnak

There is a lot of theories why him and Niall got the least solos but I still think it was willingly, at least in Louis case. He just didn't think he was as good. I feel like he was a bit intimidated by Liam, Zayn and Harry. Not that he'd admit it but out loud (boys don't usually do that :) ) or that he was ever right about that cuz he sounds amazing! I just have a hunch he might not realise how vital he was for the band. I don't think I'd like 1D sound nearly as much as I do if it wasn't for Louis's pop-punk tembre that distincts them so well. I never knew 1D had that sound. I was sure they're these N'Sync/BSB r-n-b-pop dance groups I kinda always dismissed so I never gave them a listen till last October and I fell in love with their sound, even the earliest one, right away because of Louis's edgy voice)))) So I could say, Niall's music introduced me to the band overall, Harry's music got me interested in listening to 1D (cuz I've run out of anything with their voices in it) and Louis is the reason I loved the band so much. Only then I heard Zayn's and Liam's solo music and now I have a new fave band, 5 new fave solo artists and 14 albums long playlist (15 cuz Icarus Falls is freaking long) to go through and this is just the best))

@@OceanChild7 actually, they weren’t at all in control of who would sing which part when they were singing at the x-factor and for their first two albums. and to say louis didn’t want to sing more solos is a bit dismissive of louis actually having said multiple times, that he felt insecure and not good enough BECAUSE he was given no solo parts in x-factor and barely any in the first two albums- not the other way round. louis (and niall) were given no chance to improve and build on their potential. i do agree that he never quite understood how vocally important he was to 1d (he was aware of his overall importance as the industry representative and de facto “leader” of 1d bc he _worked_ to make it that way, took over from their label appointed songwriters and steered the band sonically from 2013’s Midnight Memories), we have to realise that they were all teenagers fairly confident of their singing abilities to have auditioned for a show like the x-factor in front of a live audience. as someone who’s been a louie since 2011, i can say fairly confidently that what eventually killed louis’ confidence was his voice getting almost no moment to shine in the studio version of songs- his prominence and stand out voice filling their live performances from their 2010-13 era even when he was paid dust in being recognised on the studio version- clearly shows confidence wasn’t an issue then. him pulling away his mic when he had to sing and his voice fading during the choruses is something that only started getting frequent in late 2013 and continued through 2014 before he thankfully regained his onstage, concert confidence in mid 2015 after Z left. just a bit of perspective :) because it seems that you might be a bit new to the fandom?

@@Ash_rn08 I am new, yes, but I've learnt a lot in these half a year, I've read and watched everything credible there is to read and watch) What you said about him and Niall not been given solos doesn't contradict with my assumption that he might have been a bit intimidated by other vocalists in the group. It only makes the matter worse. As I said, it's a hunch, not a fact)) And I agree with the rest of what you've said. Louis's voice is the reason why I fell in love with this band so much, so I'm not in any way dismissive of him, please, don't try to find a diss where there is none. Cheers

@@Ash_rn08 louis was definitely robbed of solos during x factor and the first two albums and that made him less confident in his voice, that's why i think that when they gained control over who could sing each part, louis didn't want to sing a lot, because he had been told consistently that he didn't have the best voice in the band so he started to believe it

@@OceanChild7 It's a possibility. Louis has said that he found out after been put in the band that perhaps he wasn't the coolest kid in the room and before that perhaps he was (among his own friends) and like that was a hit to his self esteem. The other lads thought he was very shy when they first met him after all. I think he did start with a lot of confident but it dwindled after not knowing his place in the band and not getting solos so this other "clown persona" was born and thriving. All the comments on how he can't sing probably didn't help. He put himself down. I'm just theorizing of course! But the writers have said they tried out ALL their voices when making the first album for different solo parts and they picked the ones they thought sounded/fitted the best, then it just naturally built from there. I don't remember now but I think they talked about that in the documentary One Year in the Making (but I might remembering wrong). They did often start with Liam as he clearly was the leading man when singing on X Factor so I think they had that as a starting point because they knew that worked. They didn't write the songs for a specific voice in mind so they had to try it out after the fact but it's also pretty clear to me they had decided that Harry was going to be the front man even if they never explicitly said that even on X Factor. The norm for most boybands is that you have 2-3 voices you rely on. The rest are only fillers. Which is ultra unfair and pretty stupid. I'm sure fans can cope with ALL getting lead vocals. But it is perhaps harder to marketing. Louis tone of voice, as well as Niall's, stuck out from the other 3 in sound. I think they (the writers/producers) said something about: "on this song (which I don't remember the name of) is where we found Louis voice", which I interpreted as that was when they found out how he best showcased his voice in the group which might have been on the second album... I'm not sure where I read/heard that though. It's been so long since I went through those 1D interviews.
