Probably one of my favourite places in all of Suffolk, the meare, the beach, the walks, the pub, meals, tea rooms and the slow pace...love it.
So Thorpeness scores...
food 8/10
service 8/10
location 9/10
Sleep 9/10
Ale 5/10
39 = 78%
..and the house we saw for sale was around the £220,000 mark.

Hi Rob I am looking for reference material to build a chimney similar to the ones seen used for mills using 1/12 scale bricks. I can't find any information on how they would have been built regarding the brick patter. Do you happen to know of any resources available or know how these would have been built as I understand they were several layers of bricks interlocked. I would appreciate any information or help you could provide, cheers Rob.

The interlocking bonding arrangements can be found in the WG Nash books that I was brought up on as an apprentice, and with regard to having smaller bricks I can only recommend finding a couple of brick reps, I have dealt with 3 in the past and all of them have been excellent in finding things for me..

There are 3 volumes, a bit dated for todays bricklayer but it gives all the principles that they should know..
