Yoongi actually loves affection and attention, it just has to be in the right time and my guess also is that he doesn't quite know how to ask for it sometimes or react when he gets it. Especially in the past. I think he opened up a lot over the years. Also, this is just my guess, but his chronic pain from the shoulder injury might have been a factor in why he used to be quiet and tired a lot in the past, because at least from what I've noticed, he seems to be a lot more active and enthusiastic about things these days (relatively to his past self anyway). Obviously, it could just be a normal personality shift, but I know from experience how exhausting chronic pain is and it can drain you a lot to the point where it puts a bit of a damper even on activities you would normally enjoy a lot more.

He is so multi everything professionally, socially, intellectually, athletically, aesthetically, with such sarcastic and otherwise types of humor, fiercely loyal friend, totally loves all animals and babies, great basketball player, brutally honest and blunt, really knows how to take care of everything including his BTS brothers, and so very humble AND just beautiful. His smooth white porcelain skin is unbelievable, his intense eyes are so spellbinding, his smile is amazing and lights up his face, his eyes smile, he is so relatable because he is honest about his anxiety and depression, and he writes away his pain, he is mega intelligent has a 148 IQ just like RM, but he is humble. You're right about Suga showing his love through actions. His love language when it comes to showing it is definitely acts of service mainly (from what we've seen at least). He'll randomly do things for others or make sure others have something to eat or they're safe or comfortable. He'll openly worry about people and he has a tendency to not like it when people surprise him with random affection but he'll subtly seek out affection when he wants it. So he'll scoot close to people and you'll see some members casually initiate contact to test the waters before pouncing on him. They're always so happy to cuddle him when they get the chance. He really is similar to a cat in many ways. He has strong boundaries and if you respect them, he's happy and he'll eventually let you get close and affectionate with him when he's comfortable with it. He's such a sweetheart. And you always know that when he gives a compliment or loving words, he fully means it because he's not the type of person who can be talked into saying things he doesnt mean. So the smallest comments feels grand when he says it.
